Strengths: Great picture, zoom, lens shift
Weakness: I hate to pay so much for a replacement bulb
I did my homework before getting my projector and this one seems to stand out as the best in it's price range. People commented that it has zero screen-door effect, which was important to me because I sit abnormally close to my screen, and I have to say that it's very true, I haven't noticed any pixelation. It's a great projector for the money.
Strengths: Brightness, Picture Quality, Color Depth, Throw Ratio
Weakness: Contrast Ratio, Lamp Life, Lamp Price
This projector is the best value at present. I use it with a Comcast HDTV Cable Box and my RCA HD DVD Home Theater System. The picture is pristine with ambient light. I project 100" at 10'! Although the contrast ratio is lower than some of the competition, and the replacement lamp price is high, I recommend this projector for viewing HDTV and films.
Strengths: Picture Quality, Easy to enlarge display size, upscaling, bright
Weakness: Not able to correct for off rectangle display
The picture quality is great and upscales SD cable feeds to make them look more than adequate. With 2,000-lumen brightness you are able to view even in a room with a substantial amount of ambient light. Has 2x zoom which makes it easy to adjust size of display to larger displays even when the unit is only 12-14 feet from the wall or screen. The only downside is that if the unit is off from the...
Strengths: brightness; 2x zoom; horizontal + vertical lens shift; no pixelation or screen-door effect; terrific color; whisper quiet
Weakness: HDMI ports could be sturdier. Won't accept YPbPr (component video) signal via VGA DB15 connector. Somewhat large.
The Panasonic PT-AX200U is a fantastic home theater projector. It simply projects a stunning, beautiful picture--whether it be from standard definition DVDs or HD. I was most surprised by how good regular DVDs look when projected from this unit. I mostly use it in a semi-darkened living room, so I leave the lamp in economy mode with auto-iris, which will supposedly extend the lamp life. But the...
Strengths: I like the gaming features and the blockbuster give away
Weakness: I use it so much, I am going to need a new lamp soon
I swapped this out for my old panasonic PTL900. The pt-ax200u is 2/3 the price for what I paid for the 900. The expert reviews on pricegrabber and some good videos for the pt-ax200u on youtube.com helped me decide that this projector is the best 720p out there.
Strengths: Good lamp, great res, great adjustable features
Weakness: contrast could be higher, but its not touted as 1080 so that is not a problem
the projector is all around very great and I would highly recommend it to anyone. We are displaying at 114" with all types of content.. bluray, SD movies, TV.. everything looks great. The specs are perfect for the price. The color setup is just about absolute perfect right out of the box and does not require any adjustment. The remote is also very nice and partially lights up in the dark. No...

The budget-priced 720p PT-AX200U projector has several new features of Panasonic's incremental but impressive projector update – not the least of which involved a tantalizing gaming-centric mode which decreases lag and speeds up gameplay. The only physical difference from the successful PT-AX100U is the presence of an additional HDMI input on the connector panel – a welcome addition, but...

The Panasonic PT-AX200U has a couple of key benefits. It is by far the brighter of the two, which makes it the clear choice for anyone who prefer to have some ambient light in the viewing room. It also has a virtually nonexistent pixel structure, making it a great choice for watching HD DVD, Blu-Ray, or HDTV content without spending the big bucks on a 1080p projector.

Meanwhile, the Sanyo...

At an MSRP of $1,999, the Panasonic PT-AX200U 3LCD projector is an upgrade of its popular PT-AX100U, which I reviewed previously. Two improvements include better detail performance with dark scenes and better motion response for video game play. With its native 720p resolution and high light output, the video quality is excellent. Flesh tones, overall color saturation, and contrast levels provide...

Panasonic PT-AX200U LCD Projector
Strengths: Picture, color, brightness
Weakness: runs hot but that is expected
Thus far I have only hooked up the projector to my computer and Xbox 360. Crappy downloaded movies from the internet look amazingly good. Video games look phenomenal. Can't wait to get HD hooked up. This is well worth the price versus buying a smaller LCD tv. Very easy to set up and use.
