Strengths: Huge screen, sleek/modern design, huge screen, 3 HDMI inputs, pretty good in tv speaker, not to heavy and did I mention the HUGE SCREEN?
Weakness: Not many inputs overall, back of unit get very warm, not many choices in the stand department, the 3D WoW sound effect over-rated.
This is my first HDTV so I wanted to go big and this was the biggest and cheapest one I could find. The price was very reasonable and my main fear was that the low price reflected the picture quality. But Toshiba did not let me down this TV has a great picture and 1080p resolution. Something you really need to ask yourself before you buy this (or any) TV (which I did not) is do you really need a...
Strengths: The best overall deal for a great TV at the lowest possible price. Laregest TV for the price, 8 connection options, universal remote, fully backward and forward compatible, excelent sound with options
Weakness: Not enough HD channels and stuff out there to handle it's power and it's a discontinued item in most stores so get it while you can.
I've been seriously looking for a TV for about 6 weeks. Ever since my 9 year old 60" projection finally broke. I took all the time and then some to find the right TV. I've studied all of the specification like the difference between 1080i and 1080p and their availability. I've read every review, checked out all the sets in multiple stores. Played with all of the buttons. So that's my background...
Strengths: Picture is outstanding! HD looks super! Sound is great! Size is great.
Weakness: none
Just bought this tv yesterday and I must say its the best rear projection tv I have seen. 3 hdmi inputs are great with 2 componet inputs and 3 video inputs. The picture quality is great. This tv has been great for thenba playoffs I just can't wait till nfl season. Just make sure you don't waste your money on monster HDMI cables. The picture is very bright and displays excellent in a sunny room by...
Strengths: GOOD picture
Weakness: LOUSEY sound
I purchased this TV (Toshiba 65HM167 65” DLP Projection HDTV) from buydig.com. I ordered it on Sunday and it was delivered to my house the following Friday. I think what expedited delivery was that I used my PayPal account to pay for the TV; and being PayPal verified means to them that you are who you say you are, and their money is secure. They never tried to sell me any additions (warranty,...
Strengths: Excellent picture with great color, whites and blacks. Easy to set up and use. Excellent picture quality.
Weakness: sound not great, but who doesn't have a system with it? Remote should be backlit
If you are considering this unit, buy it. This is the 4'th Toshiba I've owned and i did not have any trouble with any of their products. I set it up and used it without even opening the manual. Wait until you see the picture ! The cabinet and stand would look great in any room. Thanks to Beach Camera for the great price and service, and thank you Toshiba for building a great product at a great...
Strengths: pic looked good when it worked
Weakness: WILL ONLY LAST 16 MONTHS
Purchased a 65hm167 toshiba tv on 06/06/07. Exactly 16 months later it died. Had to pay a service guy $100 bucks to tell me its the engine light and that it will cost $1000.00 bucks to fix and another $100 bucks too install. I paid 2 grand for the tv and expected it to last longer than 16 months. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANY TOSHIBA PRODUCTS TO ANYONE.
Strengths: Great size for $$, good picture - especially with HD input source.
Weakness: Some glare issues from external lighting, so-so sound, issues with parental controls.
Very nice big projection tv for a media room, but be prepared to dim the lights as glare can be an issue. Picture quality is excellent, especially with HD signals in. Standard 480i video signals in can be a bit grainy due to the large screen size, but if you sit far enough away (10'+) it isn't unbearable. Sound quality is so-so as you would expect from built-in speakers, but that is what home...
Strengths: size and brand name, it worked one day.
Weakness: this worked a total of one day, light unit went out, service is slow
I'm still waiting because the light unit isn't in stock and therefore I have a $2000 plus set which is non functional. The service tech is waiting and overnight/Fed Ex is an alien concept to them. The mere fact that there is no inventory of spare parts like this one which is a common problem is pathetic. they refuse to remove one from a set which is in stock to meet and or exceed my expectations....
Strengths: Super clear, Sleek, Ultra Bright, Not heavy, Great Sound
Weakness: No stand included, No TV Guide, Awkward remote
Before I had this TV, I bought an older 62" TV called the 62hm116. It was smaller and not as clear, but the good part about it is that it had a TV Guide option. This TV is newer, but for some reason, it doesn't have the option to look at a TV Guide. Everything else is great about the TV, especially its size and clarity. A TV Guide would be nice, though.

Great Price Point
Strengths: BIG, Great Picture, Price
Weakness: Sound? But who uses the internal speakers anyways
At the time I bought this TV, it was the best bang for your buck. Going 65" at 1080p isn't exactly cheap if you plan on getting a plasma or LCD display. However, this DLP unit offers the great picture that other more expensive sets offer at an unbeatable price. The picture is great, and there is plenty of ports for all your connections. I haven't had any trouble with the TV yet, so no bad news to...
