Strengths: Price, inputs, picture quality
Weakness: Contrast
We picked up this Toshiba model after comparing it to similar Sony and Samsung models in the store. While we liked the color and contrast of the Sony better, the Toshiba was priced $300 lower for comparable size and features. If price is not a factor you may find that the Sony is the way to go, but if you're looking for the best bang for your buck you can't go wrong with Toshiba.
Strengths: Big blurry picture
Weakness: Cannot get a better picture than on my old Toshiba flat tube TV
Buy something else--like an LCD. Picture is anything but clear. Old TV had a better although smaller picture. Basically I paid $990 for a bigger blurrier picture. (I am a Toshiba fan and have been for years.) To make things worse bought it from Globalcomputer.com and cannot return it.
Strengths: Picture, ease of operation, nice remote
Weakness: Sound --- I haven't played with it much so it might be me instead of the set
I received this television on the 2nd of January from Sears for $999. For the price, it couldn't be beat. It is comparable in quality and picture to the SAMSUNG and SONY sets. I think it works extremely well. I just watched the Bears beat up on the Saints and it was like I was there in High Definition. Here's the deal...this may not be the best DLP on the market, but you can't beat the price. It...
Strengths: Incredible value, great picture
Weakness: none, although I've heard of bulb-life issues
Got a deal on this TV...much cheaper than a comparable LCD or Plasma 42". The picture quality is great, very clear. Also, no issues with playing games on this either. I have heard of short bulb lives on these DLP's, so I'm a little concerned about that since they are expensive to replace. But overall so far I've been very pleased with this set...it's hard to watch my old TV's now!
Strengths: Very clear picture and good sound
Weakness: Very bad picture if you don't have component digital input, also had a problem with the hdmi cable and the cable box.
I bought this set after being alerted to a great sale on them. This is my first HD set and I was very excited to get it home and hooked up. Got it home and hooked it up (unit is very light weight, lighter then my 27" tube) everything came together nicely then I turned it on. Picture was all blurry and bright. So I put in my home theater setup dvd and calibrated the colors (took about 1 hour till...
Strengths: Nice and clear and unit itself has small measurements - not a huge border
Weakness: Contrast needs tweeking
We love this TV! It was a great price and it has made watching TV even better. The measurements of the TV are great too - not one with too much border so that it fits into smaller spaces. Definately would recommend.
Strengths: With the DLP technology, this TV has a crisp, sharp and bright picture. It also has plenty of inputs, including HDMI.
Weakness: It only has 720p, as opposed to 1080p on some newer sets.
Overall, this TV is a great value for the money. I was very impressed with the DLP picture on my HD channels. Watching football and auto racing was a revelation, the clarity and color jump out at you. If you want a great TV, for a great price, this is the TV for you!
Strengths: design, picture
Weakness: bulb needs to be replaced every few years. weight
This is a very beautifully designed television. Great picture at all angles of viewing. I think the colors are very vibrant and in HD mode make the characters really stand out. For the price I paid for this TV it was definitely a steal!
Strengths: Price, got it at Sears for $723
Weakness: Remote is unresponsive.
Overall, this is a great TV with a nice affordable price tag. The viewing angle is very narrow. The remote layout is confusing and feel cheap. The built in speaker is useless, but hook it up to a decent home theater system and you got a nice system. The picture is clear and crisp, wide screen is also a plus.

Epitome of BANG for your BUCK!
Strengths: Chrisp image quality, good contrast, NO GAMING LAG
Weakness: viewing angle not as wide as competitor models, but not noticeable from normal viewing angles.
I recently traded out my Samsung HLR series 50" dlp tv for this toshiba, and the main reason was noticeable lag during gaming. Gaming on my PS2 was TERRIBLY laggy on the Samsung, and a bit improved when using my xbox 360, but this Toshiba has very little lag and makes more time-sensitive games playable. If you are looking for a good mid-sized big screen with great image quality, and a stylish...
