Strengths: Size, easy menu to navigate, can control ALL aspects for picture and audio adjustments(but you will not have to change any picture aspects-great out of the box!). Very stable picture even w/movement.
Weakness: REMOTE-not very useful. I can't program it to control my Pioneer DVD (NEW) and you can only program a 1 video and 1 cable box - thats it. Hard to believe! "Black" not super black butbetterthanexpected
Well I ran this TV through it's paces for a week now. First I put a THX DVD in the player and ran the THX setup (this is a great and free way to "pro" adjust your picture). I did not have to change a thing! Happy! Then I ran the Matrix for movement, Monsters Inc. for color and clarity and Saving Private Ryan for color wash and "unsteady" cimematography. I can't find fault. The DLP folks want you...
Strengths: Excellent picture on both digital cable and DVD. Good sound from television speakers.
Weakness: Warm-up time approx. 45 sec. Cooling fan noticable.
I have enjoyed viewing this screen since day one. It has taken a little adjustment of the screen to get it right. Fortunately, the adjustments are easy to make. I just got digital cable with HDTV and the picture is unbeatable. I'm Getting ready to hook-up the digital optical audio to my amp. I can't wait. Football will never be the same.
Strengths: Beautiful HD picture, lightweight, elegant design. Excellent for viewing movies, high def tv, and playing video games.
Weakness: Standard television signals look poor when viewed at such a large size.
In the few days I've had this tv, I've come to like it more and more. With so many inputs available, I've had no trouble hooking up my many components and video game systems. The side-by-side PIP windows are amazing. You can watch any of your two inputs in windows that can be sized to share equal portions of the screen - no more tiny little window in a corner. While regular television signals...
Strengths: Very clear and vivid picture. Built-in HD tuner. Slide show with MP3 music.
Weakness: Only accepts mem stick for slide show. Can't use flash card or other cards from digital cameras.
I was pleasantly surprised to find so many on-air digital channels received by the built-in HD tunner. I first used a 10 year old rabbit ear antenna. The TV automatically found about 8 digital channels. Then, I bought a new RCA powered (45 db gain) antenna from Walmart and tried again. This time the TV found 14 digital channels (the analog channels are all crappy from where I live). All the big...
Strengths: Slimness of design ( 18 inches thick) ; quality of HD picture; ease of use and simple set-up.
Weakness: "standard broadcast" reception a litte fuzzy vs HDTV broadcasts
Researched all current types of High Definition TV's ( Plasma, DLP, LCD ) before deciding on Sony Wega 55 inch model. Slimness of design ( 18 inches thick), quality of picture , and price/value relationship were deciding factors. Use of price grabber product reviews helpful in deciding to go for the "extended warranty.Money saved vs "box stores" more than paid for warranty which gives me "piece...
Strengths: Picture quality and brightness. Ease of use and set-up. Remote control. Size. On-screen features. Built-in HDTV tuner.
Weakness: Long start-up time. Average sound system.
This TV has a truly outstanding picture! I've seen many LCD TV's, and SONY clearly leads this market in my estimation. The size is perfect for most rooms, the remote control is easy to use, and setting everything up is simple. The built-in tuner picks up over-the-air HDTV stations very well. The HDTV and DVD quality are as good as you'll find in any LCD TV. Viewing Memory Stick pictures is easy...
Strengths: Very clear picture, HD is awesome!, design is very stylish and classy, menu is easy to navigate, sound is very impressive for tv speakers, glare resistant screen is very nice.
Weakness: Just one! The remote is kind of lame, it reminds me of one from a 15 year old trinitron.
I purchased this sony after a thorough review of DLPs and LCDs. The only weekness that really stood out for LCDs was the blacks, which for me seem fine. DLP was marginally better in this aspect but there is not that much difference. I got a good deal on this set for $2700 and could not be happier unless it was replaced with a $15K plasma for free! I am currently only running with component and a...
Strengths: This one of the best TV out there. I like the fact that it has high def turner build in so I can pick up high def signal without additional hardwares. You get your money worth.
Weakness: It takes one or two seconds to switch from one channel to another. This is a little bit long.
I like the build in high def turner as well as the picture quality. This is my first TV and I love it very much. You get your money worth every penny. I would buy this again if I need to.
Strengths: Beautiful picture, Easy set up and use, Tons of inputs
Weakness: Warm-up is a little slow
This is a great HD television. The picture is beautiful, the menu for set-up is very user friendly and it has Nine inputs. Even the remote is easy to use. Five stars!

Amazing, especially for 2004
Strengths: Great picture, especially when put at 1080i (its highest HD format), excellent for games, lasts a while (had it for 5 years now), GREAT speakers if you hook up an HD cable (HDMI).
Weakness: Warm up time sometimes takes too long, it takes the fan about 5 minutes to turn off.
Overall excellent TV for anything you want to do with it. I play my Xbox 360 on that TV with an HDMI cable at 1080i, and it looks outstanding from a distance. When you get close to it, however, you start seeing pixels clearly about 2 feet away from the TV. I can't say this TV is as quality as those huge TVs for light gun games in the arcade. One arcade game, which runs in 1080i, looks amazing no...
