Strengths: Great picture! Easy picture adjustments. Conveniently placed inputs. Thin top and side frames. Small depth on sides.
Weakness: Bottom frame is taller than necessary. Remote is very long for no apparent reason.
I upgraded from a 3 year old 50" Samsung DLP and I'm amazed at the brightness and clarity of this Sony. The picture is amazing with high definition from DirecTV and my DVDs (through a 1080p up-convert player) look like HD-DVDs. The bottom of the set is kind of tall for my taste, but the small depth of the sides allowed me to put a larger tv in than I expected. Well placed inputs on the side...
Strengths: Picture and color clearity. 3 HDMI inputs
Weakness: Light blub technology. Sony will discontine the DLP product line.
To be honest, this was not the set I intended to purchase, but after compairing all the sets at several stores this set stood right up to the best LCD's and Plasma's. I did not want to deal with changing an expensive light blub every couple of years so I first looked at LED DLP. LED's have service ratings of 20,000 hours and up, but the picture was not nearly as good as the Bravia. The newer...
Strengths: 1080p, 120 Hz, accurate grayscale if calibrated, accurate colors, good dimensionality
Weakness: Silk screen effect, loud fans at times, video processing not the best
This display is tough to beat at its price point. Like all displays, it’s not perfect, but it does offer a number of significant strengths offset by relatively minor weaknesses, that overall make it a great value. It’s 60”, and the bezel surrounding the screen is thinner than LCD or plasma, so the image seems to float out of the background (a good thing). It’s 1080p. It has lots of light...
Strengths: Big screen yet lightweight and slim sides and depth, 3 HDMI connections, rear SIDE connection hookup, built-in HD tuner, modern styled menu system, True 1080p, VGA connection
Weakness: No Picture-In-Picture or Sony TwinView, can be expensive, only 2 component inputs, no captioning configuration
I bought this and I keep having to get price match adjustments as the price just keeps tumbling to now just above $2000. I wanted to get a Sony SXRD because it’s Sony’s version of Liquid Crystal on Silicon (LCoS) and does not have the drawbacks of DLPs (rainbow effects, wobulated 1080p) or LCDs (screen-door effects, weaker black levels). The only thing I do not like about this TV is that it...
Strengths: Beautiful picture, great user interface, solidly built, somewhat future-proof with x.v.Color (HDMI 1.3a)
Weakness: None so far.
The 60A3000 was the third 1080P TV that I tried out when I decided to step up to 1080P. First came two DLP models, the first was built with matchsticks (or so I guess based on "aligning" the screen by tugging gently on it), the second had a fan that I could hear over the programming, and then I found one that is juuuust right. To be honest, while I had a PS3 and a Toshiba HD player, they were...
Strengths: Best overall picture quality along with plenty of settings and light weight.
Weakness: 1080P/24 does not sinc with my Toshiba XA2 and Pioneer Elite BDP-94HD players. Had to turn off the motion nutralizer to eliminate flicker effects.
This is by far the most beautiful HDTV I have owned. It looks better than the Mits Diamond 833 series where I saw at the local BB store at the Westiminster Mall in Orange County California. Go see it for yourself in the Magnolia Home Theater. There are two settings listed online at CNET.com and Ultimateavmag.com to help you with the set up. If you don't have a need to hang the TV, the Sony...
Strengths: It's an SXRD - what else do you need to know? It's like looking through a window without the glass.
Weakness: All of your friends will want to camp out at your house during Bowl Game season.
I called Crutchfield's 800# line and talked with one of their experts - they're running a special price but you have to call to get the deal. It's already on sale for $1900, but they have it now for $1700! (okay - $1699.99 for all you bean counters out there). It's out of stock but they say they say they'll have them in a few days - I've done lots of business with Crutchfield and they're the gold...
Strengths: the 120hz technology is awesome. The TV is Crisp and clean. The PQ is awsome and the built in turner is fast. The menu system takes a little use to get use to. The remote is long and skinny.
Weakness: Takes a little time to warm up to full PQ. Also the LCD has 2 built in fans and its a little noisy, but its not overly annoying. The TV speakers are a little weak.
You can not go wrong with this TV. The 120 HZ technology makes a huge difference in the smoothness when scenes are fast and panning. Ipurchased this TV for 1800 delivered and to me its a pretty good deal. Sony really lives up to their name on this product.
Strengths: -Great Picture Quality -Deep blacks -HDMI 1.3
Weakness: -Only upscales to 1080i -No PIP
After much research, Sony's SXRD (LCOS) seems the overall best balance between quality and cost. And this 60 inch seems the sweet spot in terms of cost and size. Really, you'd need to pay $3500+ to get something better or even slightly bigger. It has 3 HDMI, but I'd advise getting an HDMI reciever, in which case it doesn't matter much. It also has full QAM tuner functionality, but again, I can't...

See It To Believe It !!
Strengths: 60" Screen;Lightweight & Very Thin Profile;Inputs On The Side;120 Hz;Full 1080p;3 HDMI Inputs.
Weakness: Light Bulb Replacement Every Couple Of Years; No Twin View or Picture In Picture.
After selling my 4 year old Sony 50" LCD XBR, I decided to go bigger and because I'm loyal to Sony I bought the Bravia 60" TV and couldn't be happier. The colors out of the box are extraordinary ! I did change the picture default from "Vivid" to "Standard" and it looks terrific now. I absolutely LOVE the side inputs because it allows you to change things w/o having to get all the way behind the...
