Strengths: Huge, Great price, Light weight, excellent picture, 2 HDMI connections
Weakness: The built in speakers is not lound enough even though you turn to the high volumn.
I did a lot of research on purchasing a bigscreen TV. I have been waiting for the price to come down. I was comparing the Sony LCD and the Samsung DLP models, both the 55 and 56 models. I read a lot of reviews, did a lot of research on the net and check at the local stores and found that people prefer DLP technology more than LCD. I was a little concerned with whether or not to buy online because...
Strengths: Great picture of the 720p/1080i TV's. Slim Remote Control, HDTV/DVD's looks Great.
Weakness: Need to have more distance to view clear picture, other wise the pixels are seens clearly, Analog pictures are not so good, but this is expected in the bigger TV, No PIP feature.
I would rate this TV as 9 out of 10, This TV produces awesome pictures for a very reasonable price compared to the 1080i TV's in the market which are so expensive.
Strengths: Amazing picture, greater viewing angle than first anticipated, game mode works flawlessley
Weakness: Picture is "off center" a bit and tilted down to the right ever so slightly.
Wow. What an amazing picture! I have had mine for nearly a week now and love it. My PS2 works fine through component inputs with the settings for that input on Game Mode as I experienced lag while playing MLB 06 and Madden 07 with Game Mode turned off. The only drawback thusfar has been the fact that my screen is about a half-inch to 3/4-inch moved to the left and is slightly tilted down to the...
Strengths: Easy setup Nice Picture Quality (great non-hd channel picture) Multiple Inputs.
Weakness: none yet. ( Startup up take more than a minute though) no PIP and cablecard slot ( I know this before buying this TV)
I use cable vision for American channels and dish network(satellite) for international channels. I was very hesitant to buy any HDTV because I heard that non-hdtv channels look horrible. But once I switch on my Samsung HL-S5686W I'm really happy the way the non-HD channels look. HD channels are excellent and non-HD channels are good. It is extremely easy to set up, took less than 5 minutes to...
Strengths: Best picture of the 720p/1080i TV's. Nice remote, good sound. Black cabinet is sharp, small footprint for a large tv.
Weakness: TV lacks split screen, guide, nice features they used to include.
For background, I'm moving up from a 3 year old Sony 51" CRT projection. I loved that TV, but love to buy new stuff, so here's the review. I've had the TV about a week. It was remarkably easy to take out of the box and set up. The whole unit weighs only 80 pounds (sony was 200+) and I was able to set it on the stand myself. I quickly hooked up my 2 component video cables, 2 S-video, and sound...
Strengths: Easy to use, not too many options
Weakness: Not too many options. I wish there were better ways to view regular tv.
We reserached for a tv for months and my husband kept coming back to this one. We really like it and hope once we connect the sound system up it will really make the HD shine!
Strengths: Priced well below similar sets (some smaller in size), all digital well proven technology, compact size & light weight for screen size, no burn-in concerns, no degrading of color over time.
Weakness: Lamp will need replacing from time to time (depending on use), digital picture quality will only be as good as source material (NOT the HDTV's fault).
With the price of large, widescreen HDTV sets dropping, and after thinking about it for the last 2-4 years, we decided that this would be the year we upgraded our 20-or-so year old 27" Zenith CRT TV for a larger, widescreen TV that would truly allow us to enjoy our DVD collection, as well as Dish Network broadcasts. Initially, I was looking at a "low priced" (under $1,000) 50" CRT rear projection...

great TV
Strengths: great picture, good sound, great value for price
Weakness: not 1080 ,
This is my first HDTV. I went for the 56 inch since that the size of my entertainment center. Out from the box the picture looked great after some tweaking with the display contrast and brightness. The TV has great display especially if you are watching DVD's thru a component video and progressive scan DVD player. The picture is not great watching regular SDTV cable but not bad. One has to sit...
