I have had the HD50LPW162 for 14 months. I have liked the TV, the only slight problem is a delay between the sound and picture during certain types of programming. As with any DLP TV, the bulb blew out. RCA is telling me that it will take 6 months to get a replacement bulb. All calls to RCA have been worthless. They do have bulbs to sell more TVs though. I do not recommend getting this TV until...
Strengths: Great picture - detailed blacks, excellent grey scale
Weakness: out the box colour settings are way off from accurate
It is the 3rd HDTV set I have owned in 4 years and the first one that caused my wife to stop dead in her tracks and comment on the picture quality. It truelly is awsome. The black boarder around the screen, something RCA calls floating picture design really ads to the feeling of 3D image and a real sense of the action happening in my living room. The detail is impressive - even in the dark areas....
Strengths: looks nice. picture is crisp.
Weakness: the cooling fan is SO loud that it is downright annoying
It is very difficult to listen to any program on a soft volume because the cooling fan is so unbelievably loud. Quiet moments in movies are destroyed because the fan noise becomes so overbearing. I am returning my set.

I bought the RCA in May 06 and just replaced it with a 60" LED. I had very good luck with this TV, unlike many others. Never had to replace the lamp, just had the loud fan for the past month.
