Strengths: Great picture quality, great viewing range, lots of inputs
Weakness: Lamp life is ridiculously short, menu system is bad, some trouble syncing HDMI input (others all ok)
The lamp expired the first time after 6 mos. Then again 4 mos. later. I am very unhappy and am going to try (against all odds) to return it. If that doesn't work I am going to look for a class action lawsuit I can join.
Strengths: Good picture
Weakness: TWO BROKEN LAMPS IN EIGHT MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE
We bought our 52" TV Panasonic Projection in April, 2005, and we are now in the process of receiving our 2nd lamp. Our first one broke in July (3 months after purchase) and the seocnd broke November 23, 2005. We called Panasonic and was on hold for one hour before I spoke with a customer service representative. We had to wait until Monday after Thanksgiving before I could fax them original...
Strengths: Great Picture quality, lots of inputs, easy to use, the "Just" setting to view normal tv in widescreen is really good, the distorcion is minimal, great black levels.
Weakness: Picture out of the box is not the greatest, Takes a little while and playing to set up the picture (Color, contrast, etc) in order to be perfect.
I been using this tv for over 10 months, and my wife & I love it. At the first took a little while to get used to so big screen 50", the main problem that I found was the feed from the satelite signal, the images are too compressed and some times you can see them like with low resolution. Now in the other hand with the Hi-Def channels, DVDs and Video Games the image is outstanding! Took me a...
Strengths: Picture
Weakness: Reliability - Lamp Burn Out
I purchased this PT-50LC14 from Sears on a price match - got a great deal...or at least I thought I did. Picture is great, but there is a serious quality issue with lamp. After only 3 months (to the day) the lamp blew. Do a search for Panasonic Lamp - you will see I'm not the only one with this problem. DO NOT BUY a Panasnoic LCD.
Strengths: SUPERIOR AMOUNT OF INPUTS CAPABLE. INCREDIBLE PICTURE IN ALL MODES.SOUND QUALITY AWESOME. EASEABILITY TO PROGRAM AND ADJUST PICTURE QUALITY. VERY GOOD LOOKING SET.
Weakness: HAVENT FOUND ANY YET AND PROBABLY WONT.
I HAVE TRIED SONY EXBR AND LOOKED AT THE COMPARABLE SONY LCD REARPROJECTION, RCA DLP REAR PROJECTION, AND VISIO PLAZMA TELEVISION. I AM VERY PICKY ABOUT MY EQUIPMENT AND BY FAR THE PANASONIC PT-50LC14 IS SO FAR SUPERIOR TO ANYTHING ON THE MARKET, ITS UNBELIEVEABLE. HD RECEPTION, I ALMOST CAN SMELL THE OCEAN, ITS THAT CLEAR. THE PRICE IS GREAT ALSO.
Strengths: None
Weakness: Lamp
I bought the set less than three months ago and the lamp has already burned out. There is a problem with the product and Panasonic should be held liable. You shouldn't have to spend an additional $600 for a three year extended warranty just because Panasonic is selling a defective product. I have not checked out their extended warranty, but have heard it does not include bulb replacement. If...
Strengths: - Good picture - Plenty of inputs and capability to skip it
Weakness: - No built-in OTA tuner
I have used this TV for 6 months now. Mine is a 43 inch (PT-43LC14) though. I have not seen any lamp problem so far as some have reported. I bought this for $1400 unopened box at Ultimate Electronics which I consider a decent deal 6 months ago. The one important feature I like is the PC (VGA) connection which turns the TV into a huge PC monitor. Not to mention 7 other inputs including 4 component...
Strengths: Easy to set up, good picture, nice options, good price.
Weakness: Not a plasma.
If you covet a big-screen plasma but don't like the price, this LCD projection wide screen is a nice compromise. The viewing angles on this rear projection screen are much better than those of traditional models. Plus, the depth of the cabinet is much more room-friendly. Buy this TV, or one like it, use it for a few years, and wait for the costs of the plasmas to drop. They will.
Strengths: Don't know
Weakness: Dont' know
When one purchases a new Panasonic television set a reasonable expectation is that a working, usable set will be delivered to you. However, I’ve learned that if the set is delivered in defective condition, the seller of the unit can not and will not take the set back and replace it with a working unit. This is because Panasonic has a company policy that they will not take back defective units...

Avoid unless you are cool with broken lamps
Strengths: Great picture
Weakness: Lamp burns out constantly, panasonic denies anything wroung
Lamp says max 10,000 hours. I've gone through 4 lamps and none have past the 1,000 mark. Panasonic keeps replacing the ballist and lamp claiming "this will fix it" and so far no dice. It breaks like clockwork every 3 months. Most complaints online aren't this bad, but they still break a LOT... Avoid this tv... it's a con job...
