Strengths: Clear, balanced sound. Can produce room-filling volume without distortion. iPod playlist presets on remote. Fit & finish.
Weakness: Bulky inline power pack. Radio sensitivity could be better.
With my old Aiwa mini-system getting balky when playing CDs, I found myself usually plugging my iPod into the AUX input. So, when it was time to look at getting a replacement, I decided to look at iPod sound systems. After a lot of browsing and listening, I determined that there were a number of acceptable systems available, but I wasn't too pleased with some of the prices. Enter Logitech and its...
Strengths: Excellent overall sound quality, particularly when compared to other units considerably more expensive. Have used this unit in our kitchen for about 6 months, and it has been a welcome addition.
Weakness: None so far, but maybe could be mildly critical of the somewhat boxy or staid design.
Overall this is an excellent product at an incredible price. We did not buy this unit for radio-it is an iPod player afterall- but our experience with the AM and FM reception has been just fine. We have been pleased beyond our expectations, particularly when compared to all the disposable electronic gadgets that flood the market these days. I am buying another for my office.
Strengths: Good sound, nice remote.
Weakness: No batteries, clock, power supply, radio - see details below.
Bought this for my son's iPod touch. Unit had very nice sound, one of the few we looked at that had four actual speakers. Nice bright display. Overall good sounding unit. Don't pay anything more than 1/2 of the suggested retail of $299. Radio - Neither FM or AM received any stations, not even static. The unit comes with an internal AM but the external is one you typically get with an AV receiver....
Strengths: Big sound, bass is indeed visible if you remove the grill
Weakness: Weak FM reception, power on issues
Bought this unit out of impulse, being a frequent Logitech consumer makes everything it makes tempting. :) I don't have a iPod yet but going to buy one soon, so my review will mostly about the features other than the iPod support. The unit doesn't look modern but not dull either, it sits nicely on my nightstand and doesn't look that bulky. The power supply is huge considering the size of the main...
Strengths: Crisp sounds, attractive design, lots of trays for different ipods.
Weakness: No tray for the iphone, but that's ok with me since I leave my iphone's case on. the range for the remote is kind of narrow. Mine also came with a slightly rusted grille.
If you can get this for a low price (below 70), then I'd say it is definitely worth it. The drop off happens pretty fast from there because soon I think you're better off just buying a better system (even computer speakers) with an audio input jack.
Strengths: loud, clear
Weakness: power brick too big, the touch panel is hard to access.
sounds come out pretty good. little bit over size but acceptable. the remote control is hard to use and only short in range. over all it's pretty good speaker for the price.
THE GOOD: Sleekly designed iPod speaker system with AM/FM radio; line audio input; composite and S-Video output for displaying photos and videos from compatible iPods; digital clock; excellent LCD display; sounds good, with decent bass and clarity for a speaker system this compact; low price. THE BAD: No alarm to go with the clock; S-Video slot is recessed, making it difficult to plug in some...

The Greats and the Not so Goods
Strengths: Great Sound, Good Size, Long Range Remote, Ipod Variety Compatible, TV output, AM/FM,
Weakness: HEAVY Unit, HEAVY AC Adapter, AM/FM not so great. No alarm,
The Logitech Pure Fi Elite is the updated version of the Audiostation. It fixes some of the main problems the Audiostation had, and the reasons why that system was so awful. The Unit itself is quite heavy, but it wasn't meant to be portable anyway. The AC adapter is also literally a brick in terms of weight and size, they should have accomodated with a longer extension cord to prevent such a...
