Nike + for Ipod Nano

Strengths: It's like to run with a personal coach. I tracked the running time, distance, and calories burned

Weakness: Works only with Nano. Can't replace the battery.

I just have bought the new Ipod Nano (3G) and i needed to give this a try. It was a great in helping me to start running. I'm planning to set a virtual challenge to run against my brother who lives in another country.

I really, really wanted this product to be great...

Strengths: price if you already own a Nano, start-up and online sync are effortless, online features are fun

Weakness: Accuracy, doesn't work with other iPods, makes your iPod act funny when starting or stopping a workout.

I am in the Army, and have to meet certain physical fitness requirements. Specifically, I have to run 2 miles in under 20 minutes. After my daughter was born I was anxious to get back in shape, so I got some new shoes, and ordered my Nike + kit from Pricegrabber.com. It came in the mail just in time for a whole lot of snow, so I was disappointed not to be able to hit the trails right away, but...

Nike + iPod great feedback

Strengths: Provides great feedback during workouts. Easy to setup, and allows one device (the iPod) to serve multiple functions.

Weakness: Only designed to work with specific shoes.

I think that this product is great for providing feedback during a workout while listening to your iPod. I just wish that it was designed to work with a wider selection of shoes.

Nike + iPod Sports Kit

Strengths: Track pace, time and calories. Very small, doesn't interfere with workout.

Weakness: None so far

Once you slip the sensor into your shoe, you don't even know it's there. You can track all your progress or challenge other runners on your own personalized website. Very easy to use.

Great product!

Strengths: Tracks runs accurately, great integration with Nike+ web site

Weakness: Requires nike+ specific shoes and armbands, non-replaceable battery

I'm on my second Nike+ kit now (first one lasted 1000+ miles) and I can't say enough about it. It does a great job giving pace information while you're on your runs, and things like "powersongs" are nice to keep motivated. It also syncs to the Nike+ web site through iTunes, so you can have a complete history of your runs without any effort at all. That said, there are few small downsides to it: -...

A first attempt that exceeds expectations

Strengths: accelerometter works well, simple design, open xpi (allows plug-ins to your favorite blog), unobtrusive when using gear designed for it Nike +

Weakness: Walking into a store w/o preparation for price will leave your wallet empty; playlists and music do not change to your tempo as well as I like.

Nike and apple. Two corporate titans who followed the heed of their recent MBA hires decides to make a device for this generation's weekend athletes. The Nike ipod kit truly becomes a useful utility that does not disappoint despite the high price of additional accessories. It's hard for a company to get a first generation attempt correct. What's even more amazing is that the shoe company can come...

Nike + iPod Sports Kit

Strengths: Easy to use! And, with a push of a button, a voice comes on an announces your distance, time, and pace. After your run, you can go online and sync all your info onto the nikeplus website.

Weakness: Not sure how accurate it is. It may be off by a little bit. I tested it on the treadmil & my pace & distance didn't match up (gave me a faster pace & longer distance).

LOVE it! I'm currently training for a marathon and needed a device to track my milage and pace. Although i'm not 100% sure about the accuracy, it still great to have. Music gets you going! It's very easy to use. And, after your workout, you can plug it into your computer & sync all your info onto the nikeplus website. There, you can visualize your run - it shows you your pace and time along the...

Decent gadget to motivate my jogging routine

Strengths: Easy to setup; relatively accurate

Weakness: Not cheap enough; need proprietary Nike shoes; won't work with iPod shuffle

I was looking to buy some new running shoes, and was hoping to utilize some software to track my running routine. This seemed like a cool little gadget, as I used an iPod when I run. It seemed like it could provide some decent motivation while trying to lose some pounds and get in better shape. The only downside is that this device needs proprietary Nike shoes (Nike+), which are more expensive...

Works Awesome

Strengths: great motivational tool and fairly inexpensive

Weakness: Requires 3rd Party add on if you want to use it with your own shoes

I've been using this for a couple of days now and it works excellent. The feed back I get from it is great. You can set your runs based on time or for calories. It keeps a history of your workouts and personal bests. It seems to be fairly accurate after you calibrate it.
