The most recent reviewer said, "Just an amazing picture, this is not "edge lit" LEDs, it uses direct array LEDs, much superior (ohh the blacks) and uses way less electricity, $7/yr if left on for 5 hours a day/365. The direct array does make this set thicker than the razor's edge lit models....
