We couldn't fit a 46 incher, so we had to go for a 40 or 42. After the research I found that we could buy a 42 for about the same price as a 40. The problem was the lack of reviews on this TV. We installed in on a cable TV line directly without the cable box. It could not have been easier. Installing the pedestal was a snap! Strengths: Very good Picture and clear sound
Weakness: Some times the people on screen seem very broad shouldered, in other words fatter than they really are.
So far we are very pleased with the Sony 42V4100 TV. We did our homework and compared all the TV's on display and by far this one had the best picture. We highly recomend this TV to any one looking for a great TV at a reasonable price.

It's not your grandmother's TV!
Strengths: Excellent color, great tech support
Weakness: Couldn't find any
Love the colors and the appearance of a 3D picture that is HD. Hung it on the wall, but had to call SONY's hot line as we weren't getting a signal. Their rep was very throrough and we found it was the cable box's problem. The HDMI connection was not good and COMCAST informed us this is a common problem with their cable boxes. So if you get a new cable box have them test it before you set it up....
