I did a lot of research between the LCD/Plasma debate as well as comparative LCD's. This set has 5000:1 contrast ratio, which is one of the highest. Regardless, to keep this short, I am very pleased with this set. The picture, size, setup, everything is great. Very good looking unit as well. Highly recommended!

Everything you would expect from a SONY TV
Strengths: Easy remote/menu functions. 720p is sharp with HD cable but need HDMI. Sound is excellent for built in system. Noticeable difference from 40S2010, especially in darker colors.
Weakness: wall mount 200x400 vesa configuration could be better, certain holes only take certain bolt sizes, though provided by most all standard wall mounts.
Overall, very satisfied with purchase. Many claim that all since most LCD's come from one or two core manufacturers, that all LCD's are the same. This one is of SUPERIOR quality. Picture, sound, functionality. Great for the money.
