Description
Prepare for HDTV and have it too. The Sharp LC-37D43U has both Analog NTSC and Digital ATSC TV tuners. The ATSC TV tuner lets you receive High-Definition TV broadcasts free over-the-air (where available) when using an HDTV antenna. The bright 37" widescreen award-winning AQUOS LCD panel provides 1200:1 static-contrast ratio and 6,000:1 dynamic-contrast ratio for superb imaging. A movie shown at a prime theater delivers about a 500:1 contrast ratio as a comparison to the astounding picture presentation from this TV. The screen has a superfast response time of 6 milliseconds that makes it perfect for faithfully reproducing fast-action Video and videogames. In addition to the usual complement of TV and video inputs, the LC-37D42U also has 2 new HDMI Integrated digital A/V inputs and an input that lets you connect a PC for use as a Computer display. Imagine browsing the Internet using a 37" screen TV. At about 53 pounds (with included TV stand), this flat-panel screen can also be wall mounted with an Optional wall bracket. Have HDTV and enjoy it too!

Strengths: Bright, nice to look at ... and a beautiful picture as well!
Weakness: None so far.
This is our first LCD and I must say we are impressed! The HD picture is outstanding (Dish Network) and rivals our larger Samsung DLP. 37" is a bit large for the bedroom but we had the room and the viewing distance is about right so 37" turns out to be just fine. Setup was a snap, menus are easy to follow, sound quality is fine (don't plan to do any home theatre options). We ordered online from...
Strengths: Picture is very rich on HD channels, plays back DVDs with great color and sharpness, good amount of inputs including 2 HDMI, 1 PC, 2 Component and 2 Composite
Weakness: SD tv is noisy and not as sharp.
Got this TV today and put it through the paces. First scanned for channels and the auto setup was a snap. I correctly found all the channels over my cable plus many unencrypted QAM Digital channels. HDTV broadcasts are rich in color and very detailed on this set. Like all LCD it's one weakness is that contrast and blacks are not as deep as on plasma (but plasma does not have the detail this set...
Strengths: Ease of setup. Easy to mount on wall. Great Picture. Very nice looking cabinet.
Weakness: None yet
This is the third Sharp Aquos I have bought of this size. My 1st is connected to Direct, 2nd Comcast, this one to Dish. I bought this one for my 70 year old parents and they refuse to upgrade to high def. Since the majority of programming is not high def anyway I bought and installed this LCD set. I "future proofed" the installation by running HDMI cables along side the component and S video...
Strengths: Picture quality is geat. Ease of setup was no problem and shipping time was fast.
Weakness: Using the built in speakers, sound level is not as high as it should be. On the sound level bar, there is no change in volume level from 40 to 60 levels.
This is a great unit and surely recommend it. I look forward to a future day when I can move up to a larger unit and it will be a Sharp Aquos.
Strengths: Very nice picture, very user friendly, good amount of HDMI, component connections.
Weakness: No digital outpout in plug, sound system is horrible, to wide movies get stretched out on the edges.
I ordered this and recieved it about 2 weeks ago. I was initially sceptical about gettin a lcd but i decided to go for it. The HD is amazing, although it is not truly hd. It uses a technology cauled tilling which makes 2 screens with high resolution and combines them together to make a full screen, real hd makes one big screen wiht high resolution. This difference is not that noticable. but as a...
Strengths: easy to use , great picture
Weakness: none yet
The product came 3 days after ordering it with no problems. So far everything is great. I was not sure if I should order a TV online but now I won't worry again, I reccoumend this TV. Watching sports on this TV is great.
Strengths: everything but remote
Weakness: remote
Some of my friends have horror stories about their expensive LCD/Plasmas with power supply failures, etc., after one or two years. This Aquos still has a great picture and has had no problems at all for two years and counting. It would be nice to have a backlit remote, though, but I'm not complaining.
Strengths: Great Picture. Sharp. Good color. Great Looking.
Weakness: Have not found any weaknesses as of yet. Just purchased TV and from what I see, it is a quality TV
So very happy with my new purchase. Color, picture, definition, the image is clean and crisp. Would highly recommend the purchase of this TV. Am completely satisfied with my purchase. It is a great looking TV, sleek in design. Would blend with all environments it is put into.
Strengths: Bright and clear LCD television. Good color reproduction.
Weakness: User Interface menu.
I have used this TV for about two months now. The color is very good, especially at High Definition. The LCD is bright and very well defined, with no fuzzy edge or motion blur. However the big problem is user menu, which is confusing and non-intuitive. The remote is big, but some of the important buttons for adjustments are hidden behind a flip-open door at the bottom of the remote. Overall it is...

Great TV, Great Price. Looks great and feels like a...
Strengths: Great HD picture, multiple inputs, great analog picture!
Weakness: Not 1080p of course, but really with a display under 42" a 1080p HD picture is barely (and I mean barely) noticible from a 720p.
I searched around for about a month deciding on what brand and size LCD I wanted to buy (this is my first flat panel). I kept seeing the Sharp Aquos, of every size, get rave reviews. I ordered it here from beachcamera.com, and with free shipping, how could you go wrong? The TV arrived inside an outer box which made me very happy, and was delivered on the day stated it would be. Out of the box it...
