A movie shown at a prime theater delivers about a 500:1 contrast ratio as a comparison to the astounding picture presentation from this TV. The screen has a superfast response time of 6 milliseconds that makes it perfect for faithfully reproducing fast-action Video and videogames. This is the third Sharp Aquos I have bought of this size. My 1st is connected to Direct, 2nd Comcast, this one to Dish. I bought this one for my 70 year old parents and they refuse to upgrade to high def. Since the majority of programming is not high def anyway I bought and installed this LCD set. Strengths: Picture quality is geat. Ease of setup was no problem and shipping time was fast.
Weakness: Using the built in speakers, sound level is not as high as it should be. On the sound level bar, there is no change in volume level from 40 to 60 levels.
This is a great unit and surely recommend it. I look forward to a future day when I can move up to a larger unit and it will be a Sharp Aquos.

The product came 3 days after ordering it with no problems. So far everything is great. I was not sure if I should order a TV online but now I won't worry again, I reccoumend this TV. Watching sports on this TV is great.

Some of my friends have horror stories about their expensive LCD/Plasmas with power supply failures, etc., after one or two years. This Aquos still has a great picture and has had no problems at all for two years and counting. It would be nice to have a backlit remote, though, but I'm not complaining.

Weakness: Not 1080p of course, but really with a display under 42" a 1080p HD picture is barely (and I mean barely) noticible from a 720p.
