Nice TV
Strengths: Nice black background; Good picture enhancement over weak signals; Has digital audio out.
Weakness: Sound is a bit blur with built-in speakers; Bulky front panel; Speakers are not detachable (for a slimmer look); Limited connectivity with only one HDMI digital in.
This is my 2nd Philips LCD TV purchase and as last one I am more than happy with this purchase. The picture clarify is amazing when the Picture Plus and Dynamic Control functions are turned on. It performed better than my last Philips 30" LCD TV on local cable channels (which for some reason usually have relatively weaker signals) as the dynamic control function significantly filtered out white...

42PF7421D 42" LCD TV (16:9, 1366x768, 1650:1, HDTV).
Strengths: Absolutely BEAUTIFUL TV
Weakness: Haven't found any yet
After reading lots of online reviews and comparisons and finally narrowing it down to prices and quality of picture and looks, we went with this model purchased from Sam's. So far we are very happy with our choice and when speaking with others who have owned Phillips products they all agree with good quality. As with any new TV you must make adjustments to the settings to find what preferences...

Philips 42 inch LCD HDTV
Strengths: Great black looks, good sound, awesome clarity, good color saturation, inbuilt USB port
Weakness: No PIP, Cheap remote and TV stand, No shortcuts to many menus and features on remote
I recently bought Philips 42 inch from Costco on BF deal and returned my vizio GL42 that gave few problems. This TV when I compared gave stunning clarity on SD (Not tested HD). When I setup my TV initially I saw lots of pixel saturation and decided I will return the TV but then observed that it actually dependent on the signal. After switching on the Pixel plus feature and performing lots of...

So far, so good
Strengths: Design, picture
Weakness: the stand feels cheap
The picture on this LCD TV can be summed up with one word...Stunning! I investigated several LCD TVs before I bought this one; and I'm very happy with my decision. It's physically beautiful, fits perfectly in my living room, and has a fantastic picture. In my opinion, the picture quality is as good as sets that cost twice as much. I'm thrilled with the brightness, color, and clarity of this LCD....

42 in Philips LCD HD TV
Strengths: Good dsign, clear pictures and good sound.
Weakness: Images been pixelated with fast movements.
Within this price range I think this one is a good buying of a HD TV. It is so easy to set up, just one click ( it has a automatic set up function ). I will recommend this one to all my family and friends. Only wish it could have a front panel digital connections instead of a back bottom panel where so hard to reach.
