Description
50PC5D 50 plasma TV advanced thin film filter for improved brightness and contrast, reduced reflection and truer color reproduction and minimizes color contour noise for natural color transitions. Allows for convenient control of other LG simplink products using the existing HDMI connection. LG's XD engine takes the low resolution of analog signals to near HD levels by improving brightness, contrast, detail and enhancing color as well as reducing signal noise. This total solution results in cinema-like high resolution images.

originally got a 42" lcd and was not happy with the tv, returned it and got the lg and love this tv. very bright,clear picture, could not be happier with my purchase. 6 ave was also great!

Just purchased this TV today to replace a generic 40" LCD. Obviously an upgrade, but this TV is much more than I expected for the price. Plasmas above 50" are still generally quite a bit cheaper than LCDs, but the picture on this model blew away both LCDs and Plasmas from many competitors costing far more. I have not even yet calibrated and it is already an amazing picture right out of the box....
Strengths: when working...incredible picture
Weakness: again...no pic, just bright red and while light..no pic whatsoever.
In the middle of a program the screen went to very bright white, green and red lights moving somewhat like an older television when a tuner goes bad. Can anyone suggest what I should do

LG 50" Plasma TV - 50PC5D
Strengths: Good vibrant colors, great contrast and HDTV programmings look awesome.
Weakness: Excess heat
LG produces great TVs. I purchased this tv to watch mostly HDTV programmings via our satellite. The tv has great pictures and contrast. High Definition comes alive when you're looking at a 50" screen. Eventhough, there are more glares coming out of a plasma screen than an lcd screen but unless you are watching at a sharp angle from the sides, then it should not be a problem. There is also more...
