Strengths: Fantastic picture. Nice input selection. Very bright.
Weakness: One dead pixel. Minor intermittent screen issue.
Great TV out of the box. Picture is fantastic, very bright. XBOX 360 looks fantastic on it as well as World of Warcraft (WOW). Colors are true, and clarity is great if you are using a PC for text reading which is what I use it for 75% of the time. Nature documentaries look stunning. I had one intermittent problem which worried me and still does a little. After about 4 weeks, a small artifact...
Strengths: Can pull in digital off-air signals, 1080p great picture with built in 1080p upconversion, USB photo viewer.
Weakness: TV's control buttons are on side, USB port is in back of TV.
I am pleased with my new 37" JVC LT-37X688. After my old tube TV died, I needed a replacement that would fit into my entertainment center. The 37" JVC set fit perfectly. The speakers are on the bottom allowing for the 37" wide angle TV to fit inside a 37" opening. I wanted the higher definition of 1080p. Only a few 37" TV's have this capability. Not only did the JVC set have this capability, but...
Strengths: 2 HDMI ports (1080p) Clear, bright, & beautiful picture.
Weakness: No 1080p over Component Video cable. Slow turn on.
If you want a media center PC, and you can't afford the expensive large LCDs, then this is the HDTV for you. I have a computer hooked up to it through HDMI port in order to play games, watch movies, and play music/podcasts. It is running at full 1920x1080 resolution, and looks great. When on the media center computer, sitting close to it shows some red speckles (pixels) around areas that...
Strengths: HD sources are pristine - no motion artifacting. USB photo viewer is a nice feature, and looks great.
Weakness: Almost 30 seconds just to turn on and show a picture. Contrast range (greyscale) for non-hd games is hard to adjust without getting blacks washed out.
Strangely, this TV takes almost 30 seconds to turn on. Once it's going - it has a beautiful HD picture. No noticable motion artifacts in high action shots, text is crisp and readable. Minor issue with high contrast (black/white) seems like the tv couldn't decide how to de-interlace the detail - so the items (newspaper) kind of flickered. (not that noticable) Upscaling non-hd sources was a little...
Strengths: Looks nice when it is working
Weakness: With the amount of problems this TV has you would think that the warranty lasted longer than 12 months after purchase
Worst TV ever, I have had the mother board replaced by a authorized repair center twice and it still doesn't work! Never buying JVC ever again.
Strengths: Great picture, no motion problems at all. Great colors and an awesome package....even my wife likes the way it looks. The picture and the exterior.
Weakness: 4 Dead pixels right out of the box.
The set is awesome. Anyone who thinks it's slow to turn on it correct but once you go thru the menu's you can turn on the "quick on" option and now it's as fast as anything else out there. 4 Dead pixels but I think JVC will fix it.
Strengths: Great picture, good constrast and brightness, true color. USB Photo Viewer is nice.
Weakness: 30 secconds to start up. Weak Standard Definition tuner (HD tuner is OK). No DVI nor video input for computer.
After about 30 seconds warm up, it comes up with clear, bright sharp HD picture. The regular TV station picture is not really good because of the weak tuner. All TV stations is OK if using the cable box. Have not tried to use with the computer display since no DVI-HDMI cable available. Sound is just OK. In summary, it is still a good product for the price of under $1000.

Great TV - slow turn on time not an issue
Strengths: Crisp Clear picture with no motion blur or lag. Worked good with PS3, DVD, Blu-ray, older consoles, my PC with DVI to HDMI cable, and everything else I tried.
Weakness: The only problem I found was one stuck pixel in the corner. I hardly consider this a weakness though because this can be an issue with any LCD panel, and it doesn't bother me that much.
I've seen several people complain about slow power on speed and I don't know why. First off, is it that hard to wait 30 seconds? Also there is a option in the menu called "Quick start up" and if you turn that on it powers on in a couple seconds. The reason it isn't default is for power conservation according to the manual.
