Strong Performer with Room for Improvement

Strengths: Speed, Keyboard, Screen, Memory, Battery Life*

Weakness: Limited hardware and multimedia capabilities, unlit keyboard, no Bluetooth, Battery Life*

@ After using my beloved Palm IIIxe for years, I finally decided to replace it (more than 2 years ago, now) with a more modern device (although frankly that old Palm does everything a basic handheld organizer should do to this day!) @ I wanted a powerful device, with WiFi, and of course I only use PalmOS. The Tungsten|C was the only model available that I deemed satisfactory. It boasts a 400MHz...

Great PDA if you are very gentle

Strengths: This PDA is super intuative and the screen is easy to read.

Weakness: It has a plastic case and a glass screen. If the case is bumped or even slightly twisted the glass screen will crack. I have 2 of these now with cracked screens.

I loved my first Palm Tungsten C and when the screen cracked, when I stopped crying I bought another one. Eleven weeks later the screen cracked on this one too. It is possible to send these back to Palm to have them fixed for $150 but they will wipe the data from it and who will have access to your personal information before you get it back empty? By the way, when the screen cracks you can not...

Amazing unit but!

Strengths: long lasting battery, wireless, keyboard.

Weakness: Sound, Earpiece, Doesn't double as a wireless phone.

This unit is amazing very long lasting battery and the 64mb is more than enough for the average user and it's even better with 256mb Xtra or more, the WIFI works great indoor & outdoor: used it while on different rooms away from the wireless router and it worked like a charm also used it on public places and did not disapoint me either.Did I say that also the processor is blazing fast. Plus there...

Palm Tungsten C PDA

Strengths: Keyboard for people like me who do not wish to learn Graffitti, memory

Weakness: NO TECH SUPPORT! Memory card slot not reading crds (repaired three times!), poor application support

I have owned a Tungsten C PDA for one yer. In that period, it broke 3 times. After spending literally hours on the telephone on hold (long distance calls!) awaiting tech support, I would get an authorization to send it back for repair. Two weeks later, it would come back, work for a couple of months and break again. Customer support is absolutely horrible! I would not recommend any of their...

Palm Tungsten C PDA

Strengths: Fast Processor. Wireless. Long battery life

Weakness: Poor screen!!!! Breaks too easily. Poor support from Palm/overstock

Good functionality when it works. Problem is screen cracks too easily. I was seeing a patient and then went to check my palm and noted that the LCD screen deep in the palm was broken. 5 minutes earlier it worked like a charm, and I did not drop it or bump it. Do not buy the overstock warranty. It is a waste, because about the only thing I would be concerned of happening ie screen breakage is not...

Palm Tungsten C PDA

Strengths: Good concept for a very excellent PDA. Had excellent display resolution and color. Keyboard is great for the individual that doesn't what to fool with alternate text entry methods.

Weakness: Very poor wi-fi range. Had to get within 10 feet of a 14db gain antenna to have a consistent useable signal. Display cracked after two days. No warranty on display.

Neither PalmOne or the merchant will warranty the display. I only had a short time to use the unit. After haggling with both for several days only to finally find that it was going to cost $125, I was forced to have the credit card company charge-back the purchase. Considering Palmone's lack of customer support and English as a second language staff, I would not recommend the purchase of this PDA.

Palm Tungsten C PDA

Strengths: 400mhz processor. 64mb of RAM. Pictures are stunning on the 320X320 screen. Documents To Go software included in the package. Lonnnnggg battery life.

Weakness: Plastic case.

I have been using this PDA for two months now. I still love it. I use the Documents To Go software to carry my MS Office documents with me. It allows you to edit your documents including charts and graphs. The WI-FI is a snap to configure. I am pretty much limited to the floor the wireless router is on for decent web surfing. One small invconvenience is that the browser doesn't support pop-up...

Palm Tungsten C PDA

Strengths: Has been powerful and configuration was simple.

Weakness: Wifi Failures 2 and counting...

WiFi has failed in the first 2 models within 2 weeks of purchase. Internet searches say this is very common. Mine has spent more time in repair or being replaced than in my possession. Palm support has been atrocious!!!!! I have been given 2 divergent resolutions to the same problem even though they ask for and supposedly have access to the notes from previous calls. This tells me they don't know...

Palm Tungsten C PDA

Strengths: When it works - it works.

Weakness: Flimsy plastic cases. Subject to sudden death syndrome. Tech support is worse than nonexistent.

Getting support of my units has been a nightmare. It is an insulting and demeaning experience which shows Palm's complete lack of respect for their users. STAY AWAY FROM PALM unless you’re prepared to buy a new one as soon as it either: (a) dies suddenly for no apparent reason, or (b) its flimsy cheap plastic case cracks. Over three hours on several calls, speaking to several level one support...

Palm Tungsten C PDA

Strengths: When it works, it works well

Weakness: The rest of the time, it is in the mail being sent to Palm for repair.

Our little office has purchased 5 of these. Four of the five have been returned more than once, due to the screen going out. Then they charge you $40 if you want to get it back within a week. (Hey, no problem, we all have multiple PDAs laying around we can use while that one is being repaired, right?) So, with a gun to our head, we pay the $40 to get it fixed. Only to have it happen again a few...

Palm Tungsten C Review

The Tungsten C is an attractive, business-like PDA that closely resembles the Tungsten W minus the antenna. It's made of hard plastic, has an integrated thumb keyboard and sports an understated silver metallic finish. It's easily pocketable and feels solid. It's about the same size as the Tungsten T with slider open.
