Strengths: Good battery life Nice display Small and light IR beaming Lots of memory
Weakness: None
I have had this product for almost a year and have never found a problem with it. Its batteries last for 2 weeks to a month--depending on how mush you use it. Lots of memory for a low cost.
Strengths: Size, Features, battery life is good.
Weakness: Large Cradel. Cradel does not fit compactly in a briefcase. I had to purchase extra software to get the palm to sync with Lotus Notes.
I have carried this Device everywhere for about 3 years. It has been through the mill and has held up well. The screen is failing but that is probably my fault with heavy use, being dropped, and carried everywhere. I recommend a software called Quickword/Quicksheet. It allows Microsoft Word/Excell documents to be loaded on the palm. This is great when traveling. It prevents you from carring...
Strengths: Portability, user friendly, no frills, durable
Weakness: palm changing to palmone, no quick memo ability
LOVE IT -- gonna miss it. My husband didnt think that i would use this very much. He was wrong. mon thru fri i use it 10+ times a day. Mostly scheduling, searching and addresses. Software and freeware available. I added the memo freeware so i could jot down quick notes or phone messages. I have had 2 occaisions of the memory disappearing. Palmone was of no help. They basically said, sorry. Not to...
Strengths: Sips power from the batteries.
Weakness: I'm having a hard time finding a nice protective case for it. There are slim pickings if you want something that has a professional look to it. Maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places.
A simple and straight forward product. Not a lot of bells and whistles, but it definitely gets the job done. I don't need to send email or visit the web on my PDA, I just need something that will keep track of my addresses and appointments. This product is a great match for my simple needs.
Strengths: uses power conservatively (without backlight on), excellent screen quality, tons of freebies available for it, easy-to-use pc sync software
Weakness: backlight saps power faster, pc connection cable is serial instead of usb, obsolete
in addition to strengths/weaknesses, i've had some trouble with syncing. sometimes, it refuses to connect to the pc, even though the device's detection program was running. but sometimes it did work. until i accidentally let the batteries run down, and that wiped the memory clean. so i thought, "no problem, i can just sync to my pc and reload my backups." well, no such luck. ever since then, i...

Palm IIIxe
Strengths: A good solid PDA for scheduling, taking notes, and keeping up with basic organizational items
Weakness: The palm unit sits a little loosely in the cradle.
This is the first palm pilot I have owned and I am really enjoying it. I like the fact that the software allows for you to type out schedules, notes, etc. on your personal computer and then hot sync to the palm pilot so that you do not have to write out everything with the graffiti function or the stylus. I also like the fact that the batteries are AAA batteries, which can be found in most stores...
