Strengths: Reliable, Fast
Weakness: VCR's in general are going out of style now that TIVOs and DVRs are here.
This is a highly effecient VCR, its got a good sleek silver look and design that complements other Sony products. The rewind and fast forward are extremely fast. Not much to complain about when it comes to this unit.

Very Good Performance, Excellent recorded pictures! Well designed remote control, easy to set up! Easy to Use! Silver exterior looks great! Noisy, when rewinding! Green light(instead of blue) looks dated! Made in China! A little too expensive!
Strengths: Sleek, Silent, Rewinds tape fast, Attractive. After all "It's a SONY!"
Weakness: comes only in silver color, doesn't have counter reset option, index FF and index REW options that I had in my old VCR which I found to be very useful.
This is a replacement for another SONY VCR that died after 7 years of rigorous use. Unfortunately, I wanted a black one, but I settled for this one because this one was economical compared to all the features that it has to offer. The remote is sleek and easy to use and so is the VCR. Great picture quality. I record a lot of TV programmes and watch them later.

This VCR is a great value. It has all the features you want at a price that can't be beat. Made by the leader in electronics, SONY, there is no reason to look elsewhere.

Strengths: Sony Product. Usually they make superior quality goods.
Weakness: Does not have cable box control. This feature available on the SLV-N900 model. Plug & Play feature did not work the first time. Had to manually set clock & go thru the auto channel select for stations
