Strengths: This player can play music, pictures and video. It is slightly smaller than the new 30 and 60gb ipods.
Weakness: The music quality is not great, and it has NO VOLUME LEVELER...i.e. one song will be loud and another very quiet. It only supports microsoft video files and has no built-in microphone.
When switching between tracks you can hear a noticeable and anoying "clicking" sound. This player CAN do a lot, but you will find it is NOT GREAT in anything it actually does. It only works with Windows Media Player. I had assumed they had volume management from WMP built into it, but they didn't. I recomend waiting for the next generation, maybe then they'll work out some of these bugs.

Great player with lousy battery life!!!!!!! I wish Toshiba would recall all this players battery and replace it with a longer lastins one. That would really make this player outstanding. In the mean time we fans of the gigabeat are stuck with 2.5 hrs video and 5.5 hrs music play.
Strengths: good screen and slim body, that's it. Most pros can be found in many other players that are in the same price range.

Strengths: Bright and colorful screen. Veiw videos and movies in widescreen! Looks better and feels better to use than iPod.
Weakness: Windows based OS is incompatable with Mac OS.
This is overall way better than the iPod with its simple and functional OS and control scheme and with a much better screen and software easily coverts files automatically for use with the player. The only problem is that it's incompatable with Mac OS. By the way: the ad says it's silver but it's actually 'piano white'.

I purchased a Gigabeat 60 3 week agao. It is definitely an IPOD and ZUNE killer. It costs less than an IPOD and ZUNE, is Plays for Sure Compatible and has a larger video screen. I am very happy with this purchase. I only wish there were more accessories available. Workout band and holder would be great, as well as, speakers.
