Strengths: Nice looking system, it had all the features I was looking for.
Weakness: The unit is a bit deeper than I expected, but it fit the space I had for. It may be a good idea to check that it fits the space you have for it.
Overall I really like this mini system. It takes a little bit of time while playing cds continously to change to the next cd but I assume that's because it only takes the cd its playing out of the tray. This way you can change the cd's other than the one is playing. The cd changing is a bit noisy than I expeceted but I didn't get upset about that because it is a very inexpensive stereo. One...
Strengths: Powerful sound. 5 CD players compatible with mp3 format. Good FM receiver. Easy operation if you just want to play music.
Weakness: It is hard to figure how some functional buttons work. Some buttons can only be found on the remote control.
Overall, I'm very satisfied with this purchase. The stereo looks great. The color is exactly what I want. The music played by the stereo sounds great. Although the bass is not strong enough, it is good for such a small stereo system. The "depth" of it is greater than expected, which brings some trouble to place it. I had to take some time to read the manual carefully to figure out how the...
Strengths: Powerful sound, easy to use, plays mp3 cds without a hitch
Weakness: Not too many features, cd tray feels flimsy
Overall, I'm very pleased with this purchase. The stereo looks good, sounds great, and isn't too big. However, the "depth" of it is greater than expected, which you can't tell from the picture. It goes back almost a foot and a half (16.5"), so make sure there's enough room before buying. The cd changer is nice because when you open the drawer you can actually see all five cds at once; another...
The Sony CMTHPX9 is a high-powered micro shelf system that features both a 5-disc CD changer and a cassette deck. A step up from the CMTHP7, the Sony CMTHPX9 delivers more power (80W x 2), a 1-bit digital-to-audio converter (DAC), and better positioned front-panel controls. Like its predecessor, the CMTHPX9 plays CDs, as well as audio CD-Rs, CD-RWs, and MP3 files. Plus, the unit is programmable,...

Best Mini-System
Strengths: Plays MP3s, Compact, Great Sound
Weakness: Average Bass
I bought this mini-system for my bedroom and it rocks. The capabilities to play MP3 audio CDs is the best part of the system. The sound is clear and loud but I think the bass is somewhat average. Other than that, I think it is a perfect mini-system for a bedroom or a dorm.
