They were pawning a demo off as a new unit on me so I sent it back. I noted that Denon had gotten seriously lighter over the years and wondered about the sound quality. Low frequencies and high power equal big heavy components. I went back to researching and decided on the Onkyo. This is a heavy unit with two cooling fans internally which is very good since a common complaint over the years with Onkyo is heat. Hooking it up was relatively easy. I found the Audyssey MultEQ XT32 set up using eight test locations to be a really good way to go. I don't know how it manages to do it but it fills the entire room with a very nice balance of sound. The power is good and the processing automatic and seamless. I don't find the app for the itouch to be as intuitive as advertised but works well now that I am familiar with it and it is very handy for zone two. I am very happy I took the extra time and went with this unit. Crutchfield is a good reliable business partner. I can't say the same for Diymicro."
