Yamaha RX-V2700 7.1-Channel A/V Network Receiver

Strengths: Sound, Power, Clairity.

Weakness: None

I purchase this unit 6 months ago to replace a Pioneer elite 5.1 receiver. I could not believe the difference and the sounds I was hearing out of my infinity speakers that I had not heard until I purc

Great Value! Great Receiver

Strengths: Awesome variety of input/output connections. The sound and video are incredible. Great price. Can run a second set of speakers/zone from another input

Weakness: Minor and Technical: Requires firmware upgrade to work with Windows Media Player 11. Only analog outputs can be sent to Zone 2/Zone 3. Online support/information is sparse beyond the manual.

This receiver is incredibly full featured at a very reasonable price. I have run it through it's paces for every feature: XM Radio, Internet Radio, PC Server, Component Video, S-Video, Optical Audio, Coaxial Audio, etc. Everything worked as promised and now the TV has only one input coming into it. Works great! Picture on a 1080p TV is gorgeous, Surround sound works great through 200Wpch speakers...

Great Features!

Strengths: HDMI Up-Conversion 6-HD Inputs Auto-Setup feature balances speaker levels very well using the mic. It checks for problems with wiring... it helped me to find a crossed wire. Sound Quality!

Weakness: I am not crazy about the yellow-orange display... blue looks a heck of a lot nicer. The remote is hopeless. I ended up using my Harmony 880 remote instead.

This receiver has done everything I had hoped for. The remote control leaves a lot to be desired, but if you have a universal remote, use that instead. I am disappointed that the on screen display only works when using a standard resolution signal. Ex: I like to see what volume I have the receiver set to, but the on screen volume display only shows up when I am using a device that is in standard...

Awesome Receiver

Strengths: Easy set, very well built, and of course that famous Yamaha digital sound processing.

Weakness: None

I bought this to replace my 11 year old Yamaha RXV-2090. It was very easy to set up and works great with all my components. I currently have hooked up to this receiver a playstation 3, Xbox 360, Oppo DVD player, Sony CD player and my dish box. Everything is output through the HDMI output which is hooked to my Sharp 46" LCD. All your equipment hooked up to this receiver via S video and component...

Highly recommended

Strengths: Superb sound quality, easy to use remote control and well-indexed manual

Weakness: It would be perfect if the display window on the remote shows each surround mode when it is selected

The RX-V2700 was bought to replace Dennon 3300 that I have been enjoying for the past 6 years. I have no regret to have this upgrade and can't be happier with this RX-V2700. At 140w per channel, the RX-V2700 has more than enough power for my home theater (12'wx25'lx8'h) adjacent to an L shaped, double sized formal dinning room and living room. The highs are more distinct and crisper, the mids are...

Great All-Around receiver

Strengths: Great sound quality, Internet and network functionality, good manual, 3 HDMI inputs, YPAO auto-calibration, 1080P and much more...

Weakness: Slow Internet/network browsing of song files, the remote could have been better,

The v2700 was a replacement for the v1600 that I gave to my dad. I was looking to step-up and went with a higher end Yamaha. I am happy to report I have made a good decision. The sound is absolutely terrific, to my ears. Coming from last years v1600 I was not expecting a noticeable improvement in this area but the sound was more smooth and detailed. Internet/Network functionality is a nice...

A Good Buy

Strengths: - 3 HDMI Inputs & Upconversion - Media streaming functions - Full 1080p throughput - Automatic setup with included microphone - Enough in/outs for 10 devices

Weakness: - No THX processing - Screen flicker when switching between HDMI - No menu/volume overlay on HDMI inputs - Remote can be very confusing

This receiver had everything I needed in one box: 3 HDMI inputs (that weren't just pass through), 140W (per speaker) output, 1080i upscaling, and a good price. If your buying this receiver you shouldn't pay any more than around $1200. I got it from Butterfly Photo for a little over $1000 shipped but I strongly recommend that you never order anything from Butterfly Photo. Never pay the full list...

Amazing receiver for an astounding price. 9/10

Strengths: GUI, Remote (the best I have seen in this class)

For the price, this thing is pretty amazing. The GUI is amazing, light years ahead of Pioneer's 84Tsxi, which is supposed to be in the same league as this baby but in reality lags Way behind. The sound is awesome. The quality is amazing. Tons of features to tune and bunch of sound settings that can be adjusted. The ethernet connection is really neat, so is the USB on the front panel. As I got to...

yamaha rxv 2700

Strengths: multiple outputs, more than dennon avr 2807, better video quality for the price.

Weakness: color of read-out

I chose the yamaha above the dennon because of the better video output and having 3 zone outputs instead of 2 like the dennon. I am able to now run my home theater and also music to my intercomm and a separate output in a different room through my M&s intercom for ipod or radio etc...

Great Receiver!!!

Strengths: Excellent sound quality, powerful, easy setup process, backlit remote control.

Weakness: The remote control has a bit of a learning curve.

I've had this receiver for a bit over two month's now. I'm EXTREMELY impressed with it's performance! The numerous buttons on the remote for this unit are intimidating at first. After using it for about a week, I found it's layout and functions became intuitive. For it's price range, I would strongly recommend this unit to anyone who appreciates good clean sound even at high volume levels. Just...

Yamaha RX-V2700

This model was considered the Flagship model for Yamaha (not including the Z). The AV receiver has all the bells and whiles including network functionality. Stream music from your computer or station from the web. It also utilizes Anchor Bay Technologies ABT1010 for upscaling video. For the most part, this piece has the same features as the $600 cheaper Yamaha HTR-6090. One new feature that seems...

Yamaha RX-V2700 Receiver Review

I know what you’re thinking… another new receiver from Yamaha and just less than one year (more like 8 months) after the release of the RX-V2600? Yep. Welcome to the wonderful world of progress where next year's model design is completed right around the same timeframe the current model starts hitting the store shelves – no kidding, folks, this is bleeding edge. From its powerful network...

Yamaha RX-V2700 7.1 Channel Home Theater Receiver

Having had a chance to use the Yamaha RX-V2700, I must say that it is an excellent value, providing solid audio and video performance. In addition, practical features, such as, HDMI upscaling and switching, iPod connectivity and control, XM Satellite Radio, and built-in Networking provid great operational flexibility for a receiver in its $1,500 price class. For those wishing to get a home...
