Strengths: Excellent sound, above average noise cancellation, comfort, overall cost, can be used with NC turned off
Weakness: Occasional "feedback"
I have had the Bose QC3, (which I exchanged for) the QC2, which were "lifted" from me while on a flight (whoever you are, you'll burn for that) several months ago. I then bought a highly, what seems now to be, self-touted "off brand," that will forever collect dust, or be on eBay soon. I finally broke down and bought the MDR-NC60's. Admittedly, the QC2's were the best in sound quality, BUT, I fly...
Strengths: very good
Weakness: batteries drain too soon
I recently purchased the Sony MDR-NC60 Noise Canceling Headphones. They come in a beautiful piano black color finish and the sound is very amazing. I would recommend anyone to purchase these headphones.
Strengths: Cover ears nicely
Weakness: Battery drains within MINUTES! Almost immediately get static sound.
Within minutes--or less--of putting new or fully charged batteries into the headphones I start to get the static sound. I can't understand what's happening. Can headphones drain batteries so quickly
Strengths: i gave as a gift, and so far, so good!
Weakness: none
what you see and read about, is what you get. I gave it as a gift, and so far there are no complaints. They work just as the explanation says, noise canceling does its job, and they are very comfortable!
Strengths: light weight, comfortable to wear
Weakness: short battery life
Definitely one of the better noise-cancelling headphones in the market but still a little heavy compared to the Bose comfort line products. Comes with a nice carrying case and plane adapters.

Great noise reduction & sound quality
Strengths: comfort, carrying case, wire disconnect
Weakness: none so far
I bought these to replace older pair of NR headphones. I use primarily for flying, but these are so comfortable I've begun using them at work too. These completely fit around my ears and I have no discomfort after hours of use. The carrying case is slim so I can carry in my computer bag or suitcase. Being able to disconnect the wire should prevent damage from the crimping the wire when storing...
