Best value for your money!!!

Strengths: Great flat frequency response through all frequency ranges. Comfortable, durable, isolation. Cheap price for professional quality

Weakness: None for the price range. You might find better sound quality for a lot more money.

I am a recording engineer that is recording, mixing and mastering music daily. I also have two sets of high quality monitors (speakers in the recording world) in a great listening environment. These headphones are outstanding for just a $100 price tag. I mainly mix with my monitors, but when I need to mix the very bottom 20-50 hz area, these headphones have not failed to give me an accurate...

Sennheiser HD280 Professional Headphone

Strengths: Amazing sound quality, lightweight, completely isolates you from outside world

Weakness: Still can't find any

WOW!!! I probably will spend next month rediscovering all my CD collection. It seems I've being missing 50% of the sound range. I never tough sound quality can be different that much. I have number of headphones in 50-200 price range, but those are just amazing, especially considering price tag - 80$!!! I am usually not over exited about purchases, but in this case... If you thinking of buying...

Sennheiser HD280 Professional Headphone

Strengths: Near perfect sound quality. Well built. Seal out almost all external noise.

Weakness: A bit bulky, and sealing out external noise means you cannot hear much of what's going on around you.

I love these cans. Sound quality is exceptional from highest frequency to ultra low bass. Bass is a bit accentuated, but really sounds good on everything from rock to techno to symphonic music. High and midrange is perfect. Very clean well defined sound. The phones are a bit bulky, and of course still have a wire, but only one and it connects to one side (left) which helps keep it out of your...

Sennheiser HD280 Professional Headphone

Strengths: Great sound in all ranges, comfortable, long cord with quality adapters and reasonable price. Customer Service - unbelieveable.

Weakness: One side shorted out after a few uses, but...

Best Customer Service Ever! I was really dissappointed when I pulled the headphones out to use after 12 months of being stored away and one side had shorted out. I had only used them a few times previously. I wasn't sure if I had done something or they were defective and couldn't decide whether to buy some new Bose or send these in. I went to the web page and found out how to return them. I...

The best headphones I will ever own

Strengths: Frequency response (8 Hz - 25 KHz) for deep bass and sharp treble, serious comfort, blocks outside sound perfectly. And the price is great, better from what it was when I bought it.

Weakness: None.

I have been using this pair of HD 280's for almost 2 years, and let me tell you, once these break, get stolen, or get caught in a fire, I will replace them the same day. After a 3 month fight for the best headphones, I came across these beauties and once I put them on, I was hooked. The comfort can not be beaten, not by my experience. On a flight I wore them 8 hours, non stop, with absolutely no...

Sweet Set

Strengths: Fidelity, build quality, comfort, user replaceable ear and head pads (fairly priced too)

Weakness: None found

Very pleased with this set of headphones. Primarily listen to MP3, can't comment on other uses. Totally satisfied with the sound quality and the volume. They do an EXCELLENT job of blocking/reducing external sound (excellent for use in noisy environments). Very happy with the purchase.

Durable, accurate, isolating

Strengths: Excellent sound reproduction. Very comfortable earphones and headband. Amazingly durable. I've run these things over with an office chair and stepped on them dozens of times and they're still great

Weakness: Far too heavy and hot to wear around outside in even mild weather.

Best dj style headphones I've very owned. These things are comfortable and block out about 30 decibles of ambient noise. They're the perfect dorm room headphones or family room headphones. No need to worry about them getting beat up by others, because they can take it and keep sounding great.

Good...but there are better

Strengths: Smooth sound, isolation from external noise

Weakness: decreased bass and treble

I got these headphones for use in noisy environments, but listening to them is not as enjoyable as I had hoped, due to the lack of highs and lows. One thing that I do like about them is being able to use them while wearing glasses without discomfort, but other than that I can think of many (headphones) that I enjoy listening to more.

HD 280 Pro is Not for Pros

Strengths: Excellent "uncolored" closed headphone sound. Nice collapsable design.

Weakness: Adjustable headband too feeble for professional use.

I have been a full-time radio broadcaster for 36 years and have used Sennheiser 'phones for my entire career. Nobody uses headphones more carefully and takes better care of them I do. I've owned two sets of Sennheiser HD 280 Pro headphones. On the first set: the headband fell apart and the coiled cord failed after eight months of use. The headband broke in two on the second set after nineteen...

Sennheiser HD280 Professional Headphone

Strengths: Nicely built, great fit, incredibly lightweight.

Weakness: Cannot be used with powerful (vintage) home hi-fi equipment.

I wanted to use these with an old Pioneer SX-1250 (1976) for my home listening, and also for production work. The HD-280 Pro's CANNOT take anymore than 1/2-watt. All tone settings must be set to basically flat, because any bass over that amount causes clipping. I barely turned up the volume, and added only a touch of bass, and the drivers were bottoming-out. If you're listening to a portable CD...
