Comfortable headphones with Noise Cancellation that...

Strengths: Excellent isolation and noise cancellation. Overall comfort. Removable cord.

Weakness: Noise leakage

I have been very impressed with these headphones. My primary purpose was to use them when studying in public. I wanted something that would block out background noise, conversations, and other distractions. These do exactly that. The first day I took them to the library, I used them to listen to a distance learning course on my laptop. I used the noise cancellation while listening. With it on, I...

Excellent Noise Cancelling Headphones

Strengths: Does an excellent job of reducing low rumble noise. Very comfortable and comes w/ a detachable cable and adapters for airplanes and 1/4" plugs. Can use as regular headphones w/o noise cancel feature.

Weakness: Some sound can be heard if you are near the headphones. Not a problem because you are in a loud environment or you wouldn't be wearing noise cancelling headphones. Do not collapse so big to carry.

These are excellent noise cancelling headphones for the money. They rival those costing much more (like the Bose series.) They come in a nice hard case. They are very comfortable. It would be nice if they would fold down some smaller. Even with this, they are not that large; they will easily fit in a carry-on bag. The noise cancelling feature runs on a single AAA battery that is included. Another...

RP-HC500

Strengths: Comfortable, comes a nice hard case and accessories.

Weakness: No independent volume knob.

I got them for around $60 on clearance as an addition to my HP headphones. The sound quality is ok, but I did notice that it sounds a bit better with the noise cancellation feature off. Noise cancelation is also pretty decent. The only think I wish it had is an independent volume knob. With the HP headsets two separate volume knob are available, one on the cord for regular volume setting and the...

Panasonic RP-HC500 Headphones

Strengths: Includes decent case, well built, very effective noise cancelling.

Weakness: Sound quality isn’t that great in my opinion.

These headphones are great for cancelling out noise. However, if you are the type that truly listens for the details in the music, you probably won’t be satisfied with the sound quality in this headset. Not enough bass and overall “pop” in my opinion. It is a shame too because these headphones are awesome in every other regard.

Panasonic RP-HC500

Noise-cancelling headphones work by creating "anti-noise" that exactly counterbalances external sounds at the ear. While unable to cope with non-repetitive sounds, they do a good job of reducing the constant drone in an airliner cabin or the hum of a room air conditioner or computer fan. Noise-cancelling headphones began as an expensive, bulky laboratory concept, but with an MSRP of under $200,...
