Earpiece Technology: Dynamic
Strengths: Comfortable, Deep bass, Collapsible
Weakness: None, really
I already had a pair of Sennheiser px-100 headphones, but I decided I needed something that would cut through the cacophony of the subway a little better. These do the trick. I wish I had bought them first.
Strengths: Very comfortable. Excellent lows to highs with nice bass. Good price.
Weakness: None to speak of, unless you consider the open headphone design a weakness, in which case you should be buying something else.
The Sennheiser PMX100s I had been using for the last several months decided to self-destruct, that is, the cord started to fray, eventually resulting in a very noticeable drop in sound quality. I couldn't deal with it anymore and decided to toss them and get myself a new pair. The question was to either get a duplicate pair, with which I would be assured of sound quality, but faced with the...
Strengths: Small folding design, superb sound
Weakness: Temple pads wear out after a year or two, though they are replaceable
These are probably the best headphones you can buy without spending a hundred dollars or more. The ear speakers fold up, while the metal band surrounds them, and it latches closed. It makes them the ideal headphone for those of us who like music with our exercise, but don't want the danger of closing out all of the sounds around us. They are small enough to tuck into the included bag, to toss...
Strengths: Great sound; light weight; very comfortable; lifetime warranty
Weakness: Metal headband tends to pinch hair
I was looking for a good set of comfortable headphones, primarily for use in the office. My primary consideration was comfort, since I would be wearing them 6-7 hours per day, and sound quality was a close second. The Koss PortaPros deliver in both departments. They are so light and comfortable that you can barely tell you have them on. I have been wearing them every day for over a week up to 3-4...
Strengths: Mids, Highs, and bass all sound quite good.
Weakness: NO
This headphone has a feature which Koss calls “Comfort Zone.” Light weight, I think the Portapro’s are just about the most comfortable headphones I have ever listened to! Mids, Highs, and bass all sound quite good.
Strengths: portable, very high midrange and lifetime warranty
Weakness: lacking in bass responce
I took my time and did the research and found these headphones to be in the top three in great headphones for under $50. These headphones in my opinion are awesome and the sound definitely proves it. The bass responce is a little lacking but overall great headphones.
Strengths: Great sound and low price. Fold to a managable size.
Weakness: Foam pads wear out but replacable
I have the same Portapro Headphones that I was given with the purchase of a new stereo back in 1984 when the Portapro first came out. I love these things. They are 22+ years old and still kicking butt! They make every player sound better. They even make my Laptop sound great while watching DVDs or listening to Cd's. I would recommend these to anyone. I am an extremely satisfied customer/user of...
Happy with purchase. Since the headphones collapse, they are very portable. They are also very sturdy, so I don't feel as though they will break easily or be destroyed in the bottom of a bookbag. I also like that the metal band is adjustable. They don't hurt, and the sound is EXCELLENT for the cost!
Strengths: The Sound, it is excellent
Weakness: The ear pads are terrible.
I love the Koss headphones, i always have liked Koss even better than Sony or any other maker of headphones they make my music sound tremendous. The only problem i'm having with them right now is the ear foam and i have not had them for that long. The foam is for some reason very thin and hurts my ears. Other than that i would always reconmend Koss headphones.
Introduced in 1984 the PortaPro has remained Kosss greatest and most popular headphone. Featuring unparalleled performance within its price segment, the PortaPro is a sure bet for anyone interested in an open mid-fi headphone. Did we mention it has a no-questions asked lifetime warranty? Frequency Response: 15-25,000 Hz Impedance: 60 ohms Sensitivity 101 dB SPL/1mW Distortion: Cord: Straight,...

PortaPro Goodness!
Strengths: great, deep sound; easy to stow away; lifetime warranty
Weakness: hair can occasionally get stuck
Like most of you, I was deciding between the Koss Portapros and the Sennheiser PX100's. I read all of the reviews online, went with the PortaPros and haven't looked back. The design from these is straight off the pages of your latest hipster mag. The PX100's felt a little chinsey, disturbing since they only have a 2 year warranty as opposed to the Koss lifetime. All in all, I really like these...
