Strengths: Noise Cancelation is pretty good in an office environment. Cool looking.
Weakness: Not durable at all.
I use my headphones every day working in an video game dev office. I am very good to them and handle them carefully. But the plastic just breaks. They are so cheap. Now maybe I have a big head (I don't hear anyone laugh at me behind my back) but they just broke. I had them replaced twice and now the warranty is out and I have tape all up and down these things. Would be worth the money if they...
Strengths: Unsurpassed noise cancelation, great sound. Smaller than typical over the ear headphones due to innovative pivot to fold flat
Weakness: Large compared to in ear headphones.
To sum up how I feel about my Bose Quiet Comfort 2 Headset is that I get mad at myself if I find I have left them home when I go to the airport. The trip is torture when I don't have them with me. Using my non-noise cancelling earbuds I have to crank my Ipod to about 75% volume to hear on any airplane. Using the Bose I have my volume set to about 25% which is only slightly higher than when I...
Strengths: Best acoustic quality I've ever heard. Noise cancelling is superb. Relatively light considering the benefits.
Weakness: As with all the others, the price. Also, I've noticed that the lower frequencies don't come through as well.
I had been using my roommate's triports for the past two years and they never ceased to impress me. I recently went into a Bose store and, on a whim (and as a birthday present to myself), bought the QC after giving them a quick test drive. I can honestly say that I've never heard better quality music in my life. That said, I noticed that the bass seemed a little weak in comparison to the...
Strengths: Deadens any kind of noise, soothes,
Weakness: A little bulky, make sure you have the case that comes with it
I am a terrified flyer, and hate flying ... I got a pair of these headphones as a gift, and my first flight back to the UK a month afterwards was the most peaceful flight for me in about 3 years! I plugged them into my iPod, and switched them on, you actually feel the noise of the airplane drifting away completely, and then just the quiet noise of the music ... it truly does make noise disappear...
Strengths: Comfortable, fabulous stereo sound, noice cancelling is a great feature
This is my third pair of noise-cancelling headphones. Why didn't I just pop the $300 for these years ago? I was trying to save money, and what I did was go through two crummy (and not cheap) sets of "noise-cancelling" headphones...these are THE KING. The noise-cancelling feature is almost silent - doesn't hiss like the cheaper ones. I can disconnect the wires and wear the headphones when I'm...
Strengths: Comfortable, light weight, sound is amazing
Weakness: pricey
The connections are great, comes with a great case that carries everything. They are a little pricey but in my opinion worth every penny. Cancels noise and has amazing sound quality. by far the best sound I have ever heard from headphones. If you can afford them buy them.
Strengths: Excellent noise cancellation. Very, very comfortable.
Weakness: Battery life.
Excellent headphones. Most comfortable I have ever owned. Outstanding sound quality. Everyone who flies on an airplane needs these headphones. All cables can be detached from the headphones which allows for more restful sleep while traveling.
Strengths: Sound clarity, cleanliness, and extremely comfortable
Weakness: None
Products with the Bose name are synonomous with quality and performance. You will not be disappointed with these QuietComfort 2 headphones! The price may intimidate many. But it is well worth the price if you expect only the best! These headphones do just as well for listening to music as they do just to keep things around you "quiet." Yes, you can use these just to filter out noise. A friend of...
Strengths: Serious noise cancellation, extremely comfortable, great for airplanes and airports, great sound reproduction
Weakness: Size compared to earphones, needs a battery to run, funky connector system
For an ipod headphone solution these are really terrific. I also own etymotic er-6's and er-6i's and while they are more convenient for walking around with, the base phones are much more comfortable and much more effective at noise cancelling on an airplane. They can also be used on your stereo system, something you are not likely to use your earbuds for. The price is a little much, but Im glad I...

Bose kick-started the popularity of noise canceling technology with the original QuietComfort headphones, and the second version has noticeably refined the technology and sound quality. Indeed, the QuietComfort 2 headphones were from many perspectives the best of the test batch. They’re snug and comfortable, with lightweight cups and a padded headband, all of which are conducive to long...

Bose QC2 Headphones - The Best in the Business
Strengths: Incredible sound, extremely comfortable, can be used without the cord, different settings for the airplane vs. other devices, nice protective carrying case.
Weakness: A little bulky to carry around and they do not work at all without a battery (even if you don't want the noise canceling).
I purchased these on sale this summer before I went on a week long business trip to South America. Before the Bose QC2s I had tried cheaper versions from Altec Lansing and Magnavox. Those headphones always worked "so-so" but they never blocked enough noise, were a little uncomfortable, and they *always* had a buzz or hum associated with the noise canceling feature. Sure the Bose headphones ended...
