Strengths: free life time supscription of traffic update and reality view
Weakness: bluetooth
This is such a great product. Its very accurate and precise. I like many features included and absolutely recommend. This is my second GPS device and can see a great difference between Navigon and other competitors.
Strengths: Good display, free lifetime traffic updates, text to speech, and lane assistant
Weakness: Somewhat sluggish, cumbersome interface, traffic not available in all areas
On the whole, the Navigon 7100 is a nice device and, at the sale prices intermittently available, is a potentially great value. I say potentially, as one of the things that makes it a great value is the free lifetime traffic updates, but this functionality is not available in all areas (including the one where I spend most of my time). I've previously used a Garmin Nuvi 200, and my take is that...
Strengths: reality view, poi, lifetime traffic, accurate directions
Weakness: bad ui interface. not too inuitive. sluggish software.
I bought this product from overstock.com and it is truely worth $300+ for this device. It has bluetooth, 6million poi, and unlimited traffic to name a few. I have used it for past week and i love it. Spend the extra cash to purchase a navigon so u can get their lifetime traffic updates. you wont regret it
Strengths: Sleek design; Lifetime Traffic; Lane Assist/Reality View; Zagat reviews; able to connect to mobile phone via Bluetooth
Weakness: Possible routing error; Slight GPS positional error.
After using TomTom v.6 on my PDA for several years, I was looking forward to something more compact without all the cables hanging from my dashboard. I had began looking for a different alternative. I had originally used a Garmin Streetpilot a while back and did not like the street lookup as some streets were impossible to find. The TomTom had served me well. When the Navigon 7100 was introduced,...
Strengths: Reality View mapping, 4.3 inch touch screen, Text To Speech, Free lifetime traffic updates, bluetooth!
Weakness: None
This Navigon 7100 GPS is like a dream. Everything is at your fingertips. I have been using this GPS since I bought it last week. It has given me good directions and the traffic updates have been wonderful.
Strengths: Sleek with clean lines. Best part is the built in lifetime subscription traffic for free. Ease of use.
Weakness: Somewhat sluggish performance and length of time to recalculate routes.
Purchase Price: $309 after manf. mail-in rebate Initial Thoughts: The unit is very nice right out of the box. Very sleek and modern looking. My main reason to pull the trigger on this product was the built in lifetime subscription traffic for FREE! Most manf.'s will charge an extra ~$60/yr. so I thought that this unit would pay for itself in a few years. This units is very well made. What's...
Strengths: nice form factor, free traffic
Weakness: Worst routing of the product class, PIO system has lots of bugs, severe customer support problems, not actual text to speech
I've had this unit long enough to fully test out several functions. yes it has nice feature like free traffic (albeit the cheaper and less efficient clear channel). Yes the form factor is sleek. But the old adage is beware of form over function and the 7100 proves the adage true. Routing on the 7100 has many many bugs. If yo set it side by side with Garmin and TomTom as I did you see both Garmin...
Strengths: None when compared to the TomTom
Weakness: Very slow to receive satellite signals; incomplete instructions; reality images infrequent; Bluetooth weak, etc.
I had this unit a few days and found it very inadequate. It takes forever to find sufficient satellite signals even though it uses more satellites than some other brands. Twice it received a Fatal Error (had to reset). When approaching a Y in the road, it did not state to veer right or left; it was silent. The TomTom, for the same route, states, "stay in the right lane and take the next right;...
Strengths: very easy to use, true to life, zaget is the best!
Weakness: cant figure out blue tooth capabilities
my boyfriend got me this gps for my birthday and it was such a surprise. i've never used a navigation device before and i found it super easy to use. we went out to dinner and took my present with us and used the zaget feature to find our dinner spot. at one point we came to a rather messy intersection and the reality view feature popped up to our excitement! i would highly recommend anyone...

A pricey but satisfying GPS navigator with enhanced views, free lifetime traffic, and Zagat listings.

Considering how crowded the GPS market has become, a new player in the field may seem as welcome as a seven-mile traffic jam. But the Navigon 7100 adds some impressive new features that not only give it an edge but also may just shake up this complacent industry.

navigon 7100 gps
Strengths: line assistant, traffic, bluetooth
Weakness: slow, routing problem
I thought I got a great unit back in December 2007 with premium GPS future but it appeared that this Navigon has some issues. First of all it is slow, it takes sometime between pressing an icon on the scrren and unit reaction. Secondly, the route planning kinf of wird. I compered Navigon's route with Google maps and Navigon sometimes chooses very abnormal routs. The rest of the unit seems to be...
