Great for the price

Strengths: large 4.3" screen and AAA installed is a real plus. The voice instructions are clear and easy to understand.

Weakness: Limited poi's and no tts.

I have been using this unit for around 1 month and it has worked out very well. I bought it mainly for the screen size and AAA. You get an extra year warranty free if you are a AAA member. It does not have tts and limited poi's but, I new this before I bought it. Not really a big deal to me. I would higly recommend this unit.

Magellan Mastero 4000

Strengths: Easy to program. Bigger screne easier to see. Tells you in advance when to turn.

Weakness: Does not tell you street name in voice guidance. Cannot find a beanbag accessory for mounting on dash.

Great product. Wife and I are both in our fifties and appreciate the 4.3 inch screened. We found it very easy to program. Voice guidance a big plus on expressway driving. Plan on purchasing an another one. We are AAA members and took advantage of the 2 year warranty. Recommend this GPS to anyone who wants a basic model without all the bells & whistles.

Magellan Maestro 4000 GPS, worth to buy

Strengths: large screen easy use

Weakness: screen can be hard to see sometimes

This convenient GPS is relatively easy to program frequent trips from address book listings or to new destinations in hard to find locations as long as an address or intersecting roads are known. The "ding-ding" warning when a turn is immediate is very helpful and the right/left instructions is great for my wife who doesn't understand north/south/east/west directions. Rapid re-routing when...

Great Product

Strengths: Quickly obtains sattilite position, Maps are very accurate

Weakness: blue tooth is not quite loud enough over engine noise

This is the second Magellan I have owned. The first was a Magellan Roadmate 700. It was essentially a first gen product and did well but lasted only 19 months at a cost of $1000. The 4000 seems to have worked out the kinks of the first generation products. The mapping functions are exceptional and the boot time is fast.

Great Unit, Feature packed

Strengths: Easy to use, very little left to doubt. Includes the US Map as of 3rd Quarter 2006, gets coverage indoors.

Weakness: No other maps available. SD slot only used for Backup and restore

This is the first GPS unit I've ever used. Setting it up was so very easy. The first real trip I used this unit on, was from South East Florida to North West Florida. Even though I did not get the 4050 with the traffic alerts, the unit did sense when we were stuck in traffic and offered up a detour option. It was easy to see and read while driving. Using the unit going to work on daily basis,...

Magellan Maestro 4000 - Affordable Yet Stylist

Strengths: - Good Screen Size & Vivid Color - Responsive, Sturdy, Stylish Design - Additional SD Card Slot for more POIs

Weakness: - Does not play any music or photo - No Traffic Report - Limited POI - US Map Only - No Bluetooth

I had bought one smaller 3.5" screen size I loved it so much that I went again for this upgrade for myself. The 4.3" size is perfect size for any vehicle, 3.5" is kind of small. Fast responsive in reroute, stylist in style, sturdy in weight that make it luxury. Limited Maps & POI can be easily upgraded with some online research. Includes all handy accessories for travel. Not many bells & whistles...

Magellan Maestro 4000 GPS

Strengths: Goof product for the price

Weakness: none

The Magellan Maestro 4000 has proven to be easy to use and is well worth the price. I received the unit just a couple of days before my wife was to take a trip and had no problem configuring the unit to take her to and from her destination. Even if you make a wrong turn it recalculates and will get you to where you want to go.
