Strengths: Traffic feature works
Weakness: Poor routing, poorly integrated traffic information
Compared to my old StreetPilot the map is difficult to follow and the voice instructions are late and often take a confusing form such as 'Turn left and then turn left' - especially when one navigating complex urban areas. The traffic works but requires you to more through at least one menu just to make use the existing functionality - very inconvenient. And the automatic rerouting can not be...
Strengths: Traffic capability
Weakness: Routing Volume control
After some research we found this model had some good reviews and seemed to fit our needs. This replaced an older car GPS that had outdated maps and had a small screen. After taking this on a 800 mile trip and shorter 120 mile trip to familiar areas we both wish we would have updated the maps on our older unit. Lots of value for the bucks
Strengths: Free lifetime traffic service Reads actual street names Form factor Bluetooth
Weakness: Screen detail could be sharper Does not include an AC charger
This device was released for Q3 in 2008 and there are some nice advances over prior models. One major one is that it includes the traffic receiver and it comes with lifetime traffic service. Many of the less expensive models from Garmin and others do not include the ability to read the actual street names. This one does! Hearing only "turn left" or "turn right" may get you there, but having the...
