Strengths: Large and brilliant screen, even in bright sunlight; easy to program destinations; lots of POI; remote allows you to mount unit out of arms reach; quickly aquires satellite signal; accurate directions
Weakness: Top-heavy if mounting base not secured permanently on dash; not all bells & whistles as newer, smaller unit like Bluetooth Wireless; no battery option - always have to plug in with cable dangling
This is one great Nav system! Not your normal handheld device that you have to lean over and squint to see all the details. If you've ever had a friend with a factory installed system in the dash and thought, "How cool, and big too," you'll like this one. Great system for those whose eyes are not as sharp as when we were younger. Entering addresses and creating your own routes are fairly simple,...
Strengths: Not only it gives a global route, it also reminds you to make a lef/right turn so you don't miss it.
Weakness: I don't like the base. Since I have a Honda Accord, the stand is too big to put on. So I will have to find some way to attach it to the front board. Don't like when I have to plug in the DC power plug
This is my very first GPS. And i love it very much. It helps in my job (cut off the searching time). Here is the delemma. I want to have a big screen so I can see clearly, but it is too big (with the stand on) to sit in my car.
Strengths: Screen size is great, larger than most factory installed units. Stronger features than factory offered units as well. Seems pricing, but smaller units are harder to operate.
Weakness: Does have some trouble if you bring it inside. This is helped with an option in the setup screen, that allows for inside use. Otherwise this unit is great.
Overall very satisfied with whole process. PriceGrabber, found vendor with lowest price quickly and easily. Merchant provided product in perfect condition, and quickly, without optional freight charges. This Garmin GPS is perfect. I am able to use it in all my vehicles, both large and small. Operation has been easy. Rerouting has been quick. I have tested this more than once. Overall very pleased.
Strengths: Large screen, perfect touch screen sensitivity and response, real fast calculation/recalculation time, loads of info available re: trip info, excellent graphic display. Did I say LARGE screen?
Weakness: May be difficult to mount in smaller cars. That said,my unit is in a 2005 Suzuki XL-7 SUV. I did not have to drill any holes. It is perched perfectly in the vehicle. Easy to see, no fuss, no muss.
I have used a DeLorme PC (laptop) based USB GPS unit, with the DeLorme Street Atlas software, for several years with excellent results. But once in a while while out and about I would not have the laptop. Then I get a call from a client at the last moment asking me to go to a certain location, and end up wishing I had the laptop to be able to navigate my way out to my target distination. It was...
Strengths: easy to use and perform very well in sunlight
Weakness: Very weak antena, Impossible to use in home to pre program a trip. I previously had a cobra 4000 unit and was able to use it in a basement home.
Easy to learn and mostly securitaire to use in car for zooming or reading informations on this big 7 " screen. Lack of showing at same time two road choice before engaging your trip as the cobra had. Lack of pre-simulate your trip with voice and video preview. And last but not the least Mine is off by about 20 meters. Martin
Strengths: Very clear, bright display
Weakness: None I can find
I've logged over 10k miles on my 7200, it works perfectly. Navigation is accurate (you can TRUST it!), and the XM radio with traffic reports really helps out in metropolitan areas.
Strengths: The 7200 is very user friendly and packed with a lot of features. It has great reception capability (even in doors) and does recalculations in record time.
Weakness: The unit may be a litttle large for most automobiles. The maps lack details I have been use to with 3 other Street Pilots & the routing is not as accurate or the fastest route.
Since 1987 I have owned 3 other Street Pilots. I ran a duel side by side test in my car using my S.P. 2620 next to the S.P. 7200. I was surprised that the 2620 had more map details, like street names, even though the screen was much smaller. I specified most information in small type to no avail. The screen appears simple and minimal compared to what I've been use to from Garmin--just like all...
Strengths: Big screen, good reception....
Weakness: Don't know any!
I received this Garmin StreetPilot very fast. Ordered on Saturday and received it on Tuesday! I used it for a three days and can say I LOVE IT! Didn't make a single mistake so far. I would take some wrong turns to see what happens than. It would recalculate a new directions very quickly. I will use this in my semi truck but for a car I would suggest some smaller version of GPS. Overall, A+.
Strengths: Big screen, easy to understand maunual, and intuitive screen navigations.
Weakness: Weak antenna. Poor mounting base.
The unit is actually smaller than I expected. I got it yesterday so I did not have much time to play with it. However, I'm happy with it with the 2 hour trip I did this morning. Good display, fast recalculation when off route. Keyboard on screen is not qwery which I found difficult to use.

Garmin 7200
Strengths: Large screen, easy to use menus.
Weakness: Too large "Return to defaut" buttons.
Great GPS for RVers. Map program to use with computer is great to create routes before loading into GPS. Can store locations for return trips. Would like to see more Points of Interest like campgrounds and State Parks.
