Best Buy, Incredibly accurate, Easy-to use-Nuvi 660...

Strengths: Strong, quick satellite recognition; incredibly accurate; now Mac compatible updating..."Garmin Updater"!; clean and clear voice(s); 4.3-inch widescreen display; durable, XLNT Traffic Feature!

Weakness: Easy to turn on by accident while in your bag/purse; windshield mount doesn't like extreme heat; Garmin accessories are expensive if you buy from Garmin...buy from an online etailer and save $$$

And here we have the champ, the benchmark in personal GPS devices, the Nuvi 660. It's got everything you need, and then some in a GPS: it's intuitive to use (I never even opened the manual for the 1st week), the screen is bright and clear even in bright sunlight, it comes with *everything* in the box unless you need the dash mount for your car (in California it's illegal to have windshield...

Nuvi 660 GPS

Strengths: Very easy to use. Many useful features. Lightweight/portable

Weakness: Internal speaker at all volume level somewhat scratchy.

I love my Nuvi!! It's so easy to use even my eleven-year-old son had no problem finding his way around the various menus. It's the first "gadget" I've had so much interest in. Lots of very useful features to use. The handsfree telephone feature works very good. if an incoming call comes in while navigating, the voice prompt automatically mutes, enabling you to answer the call with the touch of a...

Take me home

Strengths: Big screen, voice navigation, automatically recalculates route, and most times it is quick to lock to satellites.

Weakness: Sometimes it gives strange routings. Traffic info is not very accurate. UPDATED (6/08): Problems with Bluetooth version 3.0 & 3.1.

This is quite an upgrade to my old B&W magellan gps unit. It is a compact unit, but has a decent size screen. The volume level is good, but it had a hard time finding a clear FM signal in the Seattle area. Some of the streets and retail info is out of date. The bluetooth phone feature is good with a Blackberry when it works. (See weaknesses) Traffic alerts is not very useful. Most of the time is...

New to GPS, I LOVE IT

Strengths: Easy to read screen, voice prompts are very clear, slim design

Weakness: I haven't found much use for the traffic alerts, sometimes routes you funny ways

I have never had a GPS system before, but I was intrigued and did a lot of research. I kept coming back to the Garmin Nuvis, and so I asked for one for Christmas. . Right out of the box, I was able to play with it. I set it to speak in the female Australian voice (which I had read from other reviews was the best, and after trying the others, I agree), set it to get me there fastest (not shortest,...

Such a lovely gadget!!!

Strengths: Pros: vivid large screen, starts up the system very fast (I would say around 20 to 30 sec. when cold), locking to satellites is super fast (when warm, it takes no time) AND I MEAN IT. It has the finest reception. The Bluetooth connection capability is ver

Weakness: Cons: the device does not play any audio files but the MP3 formatted ones. Also, the wireless FM transmitter is not as clean and clear as I would expect, but not too bad. Maybe if I could find a cleaner channel, I would be able to get a better voice quali

I just got this new garmin nuvi 660 on October 4, 2006. My decision to select it was after a very long time of searching and comparing. Here is what I think about this product: Pros: vivid large screen, starts up the system very fast (I would say around 20 to 30 sec. when cold), locking to satellites is super fast (when warm, it takes no time) AND I MEAN IT. It has the finest reception. The...

The best out there.

Strengths: Text-to-speach, bluetooth integration, FM transmitter and quick start-up.

Weakness: Traffic Monitor is free for the first 3 months.

This is the best navigation GPS out there. Quick start start-up time, good receiption even from my home. I can connect my Nokia 8801 using the bluetooth. The option to transmit music to your FM radio is great! SD slot comes in handy if you need some extra space.

Nuvi 660 GPS

Strengths: 4.3-inch screen. Sensitive GPS receiver. Integrated traffic receiver. Bluetooth speakerphone interface. POI database is great! Thousands of things to chose from, easy to use and FUN!

Weakness: Price - Though you get a lot of bang for your buck

I know some have posted the volume is weak, but I can't verify this. I find the volume to be very good, although the MP3 sound is not as expected. This is my first GPS device and I bought mainly on the reviews above and I can't be any more happy with it than I am. One issue I haven't figured out is the original directions like to take you the longer of the routes than is required. I'm sure this...

Garmin Nuvi 660 GPS unit

Strengths: good maps, fm tranmitter to radio, stand alone audio, very accurate

Weakness: stand alone audio quality, mp3 files awkward to play, screen brightness in high light environment

Used this unit extensively on a trip to Colorado from So. Ca. and back. Generally, it performed excellently. The car was an '07 Magnum and the suction cup mount was a bit of a problem since it was hard to reach the unit due to the extreme slope of the windshield. The fm transmitter was useful but we had to keep changing the receiving station as we traveled due to interference. The unit is pretty...

In car GPS/remote phone/MP3player yet portable!

Strengths: Easy set up, GPS, in-car remote phone calling (phone easily interfaced), in car MP3 player- all work well

Weakness: FM transmitter does not go down to 87.9, in urban area do not have a free channel to transmit to car FM; screen could be bigger, though less portability that way

Excellent product; could use two improvements-- better FM transmitter with some way of overcoming urban fm channel glut-- I used a car cassette adapter plugged into nuvi's earphone audio out jack to couple Nuvi to car's stereo system for MP3 and phone audio..those with newer cars can use the "i pod" input plug for that. Also, greater storage on disc for music would be nice, though the SD card...

Garmin nüvi 660 GPS

Strengths: Ease of use, fast directions even when you miss your turn.

Weakness: Cost

I never used any other GPS unit besides Garmin and from what I hear, I would never want to. I can't believe I tried to make sales calls without one of these. I easily double the number of calls I make a day now.
