Description
Take your ride to the next level with the Edge 205 Bircycle Navigator, Garmin's GPS-enabled personal trainer and cycle computer. Whether you're a competitive racer or weekend cyclist, Edge will help you achieve your personal best. Rugged, lightweight Edge 205 attaches easily to the stem or handlebars of your bike with the included bike mount. Just turn it on, acquire GPS satellites and go. Edge automatically measures your speed, distance, time, calories burned and altitude, and records this data for your review. For even more detailed data, get the Edge 305, which can track your heart rate, cadence, climb and descent. Other Edge Motorcycle Navigator features Virtual Partner lets you race a virtual competitor over a specified distance and speed. Courses let you race against a previously recorded workout, so you can compare your current and past performances over the same ride. Auto Pause pauses the timer when you slow down or stop and resumes when you speed up again, so you can focus on your ride. Auto Lap automatically starts a new lap each time you pass a specified location or travel a preset distance.

Strengths: Easy to set up and use Accurate Informative
Weakness: Handlebar mount uses zip ties
I've been using this for a couple weeks and I'm very happy with it so far. Setup was very easy (compared to a regular bike computer)-- all you have to do is mount the thing to your bike handlebar. It's accurate as far as I can tell (in terms of speed and location). I have yet to use all the features, but it provides lots of useful info including breadcrumb trail, calories burned, etc. My only...
Strengths: Accuracy, Easy Installation, Interfaces with your computer
Weakness: Sometimes difficult to see small data readout when riding
The Garmin Edge 205 GPS Unit takes your bike-riding workout to a new level. With the GPS it allows for very accurate monitoring of your bike route - keeping track of the distance, calories, average speed, maximum speed, altitude, and detailed lap information. The unit is very compact and easy to install on your bike. The compact size makes it sometimes difficult to see the readouts of the data as...

Edge 205
Strengths: Easy to use. Very useful features. Great PC integration. 2 bike mounts included. GPS seems very accurate
Weakness: No map panning ability. Elevation detection not very accurate
This GPS is slightly smaller than a deck of cards (More like cell phone sized) and installs quite easily with two included bike mounts (one vertical, one horizontal) that attaches to the bike via zip ties. Unlike many bike computers, this requires no calibration. (Although apparently some other Edge models which can calculate more things require information on the bike's weight, wheel diameter,...
