Weaknesses:  Too wide
Review:  All my standard DVDs play as 480p. I've tried all the settings but it stays the same. However, movies look very good on this player. Not quite as good as HD but close to it. Movies look much better than standard definition programming from the cable company. This unit is black and attractive but is too wide. Perhaps Panasonic should have made it a bit more compact. Strengths:  quick starup, visually looks good on the outside, good 720p quality when using HDMI cable. many options and many Video enhancement features.
Weaknesses:  a little noisy when reading the dvd, does not include HDMI cable, good for screens < 36 inches...not for larger screens
Review:  This DVD player is affordable, simple to use, and its good quality. Great watching movies. Lots of features and performs flawlessly. Great picture, sound, and functionality. HDMI cable makes big difference. highly recommend! =)
