Review:  All my standard DVDs play as 480p. I've tried all the settings but it stays the same. However, movies look very good on this player. Not quite as good as HD but close to it. Movies look much better than standard definition programming from the cable company. This unit is black and attractive but is too wide. Perhaps Panasonic should have made it a bit more compact. Weaknesses:  a little noisy when reading the dvd, does not include HDMI cable, good for screens < 36 inches...not for larger screens
