Strengths: Solid recorder with no problems. Easy to use and offers a lot of different connections.
Weakness: Difficult to set up menus or customize them.
I really like this item as I purchased it to make it easier to burn home movies and movies that I recorded on my DVR. Easy to use out of the box. Do not like the the limitations on customizing DVD menus, screens, etc. Solid product with a few drawbacks.
Strengths: Easy to dub both ways - lots of options for set up - compatible with nearly all formats. Good quality picture & sound. More features than described in listings
Weakness: A bit complex to operate for an average TV/VCR user; but ok for PC literate
Looks nice; has good output when used with my DirectTV/TIVO receiver/pvr. Can archive from PVR no problem. Set up is not intuitive, but manageable. Finally got videos of kid onto DVD. Also play MP3 & JPEG - a bonus.
Strengths: The ability to record a program on DVD and view it at a latter Time is a Plus. The Quality of the recording is excellent. The reuse of a DVDRW and The Cost of a DVD,the amount of space to store.
Weakness: I have found that initially it was dificult to get the Features Identified to complete a VHS to DVD Dub. Maybe a better Instruction Manual. Remote Control angle to be Control Unit could be increased
The use of the unit has been a positive addition to my Home Theater System. It connects direct to my Amplifier. It also can connect Direct to my In focus Screen play Projector when if required. The quality of the Video Output is Great and the Audio Signal. The Features offered are excellent for the cost of the Unit.
Strengths: Seems to work just fine.
Weakness: None so far.
Had this same product for just over 2 years, then the dvd drawer would not open any more, so had to buy another one. Overall a really good product, for a couple years anyway.

Very nice model
Strengths: Nice looks does the trip and solid name to stand behind the product
Weakness: None yet
This VCR/DVR is just what I was looking for. It has the built in HD to record to and then re-record onto the VCR or DVD's. I can restore my old VHS tapes and bring them up to date on DVD (until of course DVD's become obsolete).
