Strengths: Pass DSD thru HDMI

I bought this refurb unit less than $90 and this unit does exactly what I want. I connect HDMI to my Denon 4308 and get DSD all the way w/o any conversion to PCM. The rest of the features should be good but I just don't care.

I am a huge Pioneer fan, especially their Elite line of products. Compared to my DV-79AVi, this is SUPER CHEAP. Outputs are limited. No separate L/R (Stereo RCA), they are combined with the 6-channel outputs, so you have to use one or the other. Pioneer DV-48AV Upconversion Player

Strengths: Connectivity, Performance, Easy Setup

I'm using with a Panasonic 42" 1080P Plasma and the performance is great. Upconversion is pure with no false edges on images. Audio is 1st class with 5.1. If your in the market for a new player or adding to your collection and don't want to invest in Blue Ray yet this player will enhance your new Plasma or LCD for less than $100.
