The Pioneer DV-490V-S is a great basic DVD player, offering not only CD and DVD playback, but, with its HDMI output, you can take advantage of the increased capabilities of an HDTV. In addition, other useful features, such as its JPEG/MP3 Slideshow function, as well as Divx file playback, make the DV-490V-S a great deal for $99. For additional details, check out my review.

Great DVD Player
Strengths: The price, features like HDMI
Weakness: None, so far.
The Pioneer DV-490VS is a great DVD player that features HDMI output. All I had to do was hook it up directly to my Pioneer receiver and I was off and running. Be aware that when you watch DVDs, the resolution is only at 480. Still not too bad. Plus the receiver remote that I have is preprogrammed to control the DVD player as well. I am glad that I purchased this DVD player and at a great price...
