Additional Specifications
Dual-Layer Media Support: Yes
Strengths: excellent video and audio quality
Weakness: no fast forward or rewind buttons on the dispay; only buttons are: power, jeject, play, and stop
This Upconvert DVD player delivers near HD quality with only the HDMI cable. There are many different options on the menu so you can configure it anyway you want to. In addition to standard DVDS, it plays many different disks, including DIVX and MP3s made on the computer. It gives you many options of connecting it: S-Video, HDMI, or standard cable. Very simple, lightweight, elegant, and small....
Strengths: Plays majority of the Divx Files. Good Looking, and sleek design. Upconverts to 1080p.
Weakness: Locked to only one region. Difficult to update the firmware.
Very user friendly product. Doesn't require to go through manual to do basic operations. Can feel the real difference with this product when using with a 1080P HD TV. Region lock is the setback for this product.
Strengths: Better able to play rented DVDs-even if there are slight marks on the DVD, this player is still able to play; low end DVD players do not offer that.
Weakness: Not terribly loud, but you can hear it if the movie is very very soft. The remote could also stand some illuminated buttons; there are so many buttons, when it's dark you have no idea what to press.
I think this DVD player is a great buy! I trust Panasonic. I think it has many features you will never use, but I think the ability to play DVDs in many conditions makes it worth the slightly higher cost than a low-end player.
Strengths: Panasonic quality, plays most dvd formats
Weakness: None
This dvd player is a great buy, you get alot for the money. Easy to setup. Well designed remote control. The player does an excellent job of upverting my dvds. Panasonic quality is tough to beat.
Strengths: Plays anything you throw in it
Weakness: None
This DVD player is great. It is very thin, and very discreet. It plays anything you throw in it, and the HDMI is great. It is a beautiful machine, and strong enough to support my LCD tv on top. It has a great response time, and loads very quickly.
Strengths: - Better and clearer picture than regular dvd player - Has played all dvds so far - Nice and slim build
Weakness: Has played very smoothly and error-free so far.
Good up convert dvd player that doesn't do anything more fancier than upconverting... Cheaper than most other brands out there and does a good job at the same time.
Strengths: Play Divx and upcoverting to 1080p
Weakness: noisy and pick about media
This unit is picky about media, does not play all DVDRW I put in. I think probably has somehting to do with my DVD burning software. It is a bit noisy reading disc. The good thing of this unit is that it reads divx format, so that I can play many download files from internet. Also, S video output is a big plus, dont see it in many DVD player.
Strengths: Panasonic brand name, low price on Black Friday, upconversion features
Weakness: Does not support DVD+R, DVD+R DL and DVD+RW.
I bought this DVD player based on the assumption it would be able to play all disks. Well, I was wrong. The picture quality in 1080i is no better than a regular DVD player connected via component video at 480p. I wasn't satisifed with this purchase.
