Clarion N.I.C.E. may not be so nice.

Strengths: Looks nice on the dashboard.

Weakness: Clarion Support is virtually none existant. Practically unusable at night because of the glare.

I run a Clarion N.I.C.E. (7" inch screen), the Garmin Streetpilot 7500 and the Garmin Streetpilot III on my dashboard while I run Co-Pilot (hard to use), Streets & Trips (great for trip planning, trip monitoring, etc) and TeleType (I never use it, it is just there) on my laptop using a bluetooth GPS receiver. I would have to encourage everyone that has a GPS to plan your trip. For example, and...

Clarion - N.I.C.E. Unit

Strengths: Quick acquisiton of signal; Large, bright easy to use touch screen; Multi uses (MP3, Back-up camera interface, Video slide show, FM modulator, Sirius interface, etc.)

Weakness: Mounting bracket (I rigged mine to use the cup holder); Inability to program your route using predetermined waypoints; Lack of info available on Clarion's website.

This is my first (auto) GPS; I love this unit and its proven to be right on track so far. I live in Central Florida and in addition to the main roads even a lot of dirt roads are on the maps - blew my mind! Even though I am fully satisfied with this unit I would hope Clarion would address the couple weaknesses I addressed above in future upgrades to the software.

Clarion N.I.C.E.

Strengths: Bright screen, fast download and reception, Great FM modulator, 20HD great for music downloads and pictures

Weakness: Large mount

I bought for my sales appointments, but once my wife started to use it, I haven't seen it since. Easy for her to use and she is no techno junkie.

Clarion NICE....eh maybe NOTBAD

Strengths: Fast GPS redraws, big color touch screen, built in hard drive...etc

Weakness: Not too happy with the windshield mounting system, screen could be a tad brighter in the sunlight, the fm modulator is adequate at best but could use a little more boost to clean up slight static.

SO far I am rather pleased with this unit, I ordered this from 6ave electronics and had it delivered to my door in perfect condition in 2 days....unbelievable. If you are looking for a mobile solution gps (car to car)....take a good look at this one.

Tip for those who buy or own a Clarion NICE

Strengths: Awesome display and navigation

Weakness: Suction mount, FM Modulator

I love my unit and just discovered a solution for my biggest gripe (having to take the entire suction cup assembly off every time you want to remove the unit from your car or hide it in the trunk when you park. I have a convertible and don't want someone to slash my top to steal my Clarion. You can buy a Multi Media Mount from PanaVise for $4.99 that allows the unit to snap apart from the suction...

Nice technology

Strengths: Very Good GPS, fast recalc of direction. Easy interface, awsome over all technology

Weakness: Mounting Braket, Poor FM Modulator.

I sold my Garmin streetpilot III, and had really high expectations of this unit. It was amazingly easy to set up. Uploading MP3's was very easy, but the cable to do this is not included. The screen resolution sems vry good and it is bright. The main problem seems to be finding a proper mounting method. The suction cup mount is large and cumbersome, and in most states you cannot have this giant...

Needs improvement

Strengths: large clear screen, remote, rear view camera option.

Weakness: POI not available on the map with your route. large HD, but cannot add address from a PDA. Mapping software not accurate for where I live. Takes me roundabout way.

Improvements in simulation option to speed it up. Better customer service to help with on manual. It did not come with a battery for the remote and the manual did not tell you what type of battery is need nor did it tell you what the fuse was for. No multiple destination or instant locate (long/lat) for emergency option. Provide other means of mounting; i.e. in cup holder or a/c vent.

Clarion N.I.C.E Portable GPS Navigation

Strengths: Beautiful high resolution LCD. Features. Easliy connects to PC (Windows based) for file transfers. Comes with everything you need including a case. Value compared to other competitive products.

Weakness: Large mount has no quick disconnect. GPS lacks advanced features found on Garmin units. Upcoming streets not displayed or announced during route. No auto dimming.

I was looking for a GPS for the car with entertainment features and this is it! Sirius and MP3 playback while map is displayed is very cool. The high quality look and feel augments my interior. The GPS functions more like factory OEM units than aftermarket products such as Garmin 2720 (which I have on my M/C). Upcoming street names aren't displayed and while most street names are displayed some...

Stay away

Strengths: bright easy to read screen.

Weakness: Poor FM transmitter. No map upgrades available. No tech support.

If your thinking of this unit mainly for the navigation feature your better off with a different unit. The navigation feature on this unit doesn\\\\\\\'t do half the things the new units do at a quarter of the price and their is no support available. I\\\\\\\'ve been waiting to be able to upgrade the maps on this unit for two years and nothing. No maps available for anywere else either unlike...

Be Carefull

Strengths: Very attractive unit. 7 inch screen is wonderfull. Easy to use more than just a gps

Weakness: Definetly the whole thing with the suction cup. If you have a small car, anything other than a truck van or SUV, you might have some problems on a good spot to put the unit. Also very fragile.

If your going to get technical and take full advantage of this units many options (the back up camera, satellite radio, mp3, gps etc..) and hoping that its going to work perfectly the whole time without breaking, then it is worth it. but don't let all that plus the great looks fool you. You have to really think about it and decide if you need all that. Unlike me. My story is a little diffrent. I...
