Easily performs complex arithmetic and calculus functions with advanced Computer Algebra System . Calculate advanced expressions and view solutions in 2-D or 3-D graphical representation. 2.5MB total memory includes 512KB RAM plus 2MB flash ROM for performing future upgrades. Enhanced HP keypad with redefinable keyboard and menu keys reduces keying errors. Customize data with four font sizes and styles. HP Solve application allows you to type and store an equation, then use to solve any variable. Calculator includes a USB connectivity kit with USB cable, connectivity software and pouch. Runs on four AAA batteries.

This calc is stellar. I'm sure most people looking at this have had previous versions of HP calculators. This one is the best yet. I used to use a 48GX, but the keys started giving me problems (after 8 years). I have an HP49G+ and now I bought this mainly for the much better keyboard feeling and the serial connectivity option. Due to its black color it reminds more of a TI instead of an HP but this is not a problem. Some comments found on other sites about the display are not true. Strengths: Great equation library and built-in functions. Good size display. Durable (nice protective case). Easy to use.
Weakness: Key-in data maybe confusing due to keytime option. Manual is not that great. Everybody wants to take a look at it.
Two years letters after a fiasco with the 49G (horrible keyboard), I just recently purchased the 50G, upgrading from a 48G. I am very impressed with it. Strengths: Can do so much stuff.
Weakness: Takes more time to get through menus to do the stuff.
