Review of panasonic DMP-BD-70V blu-ray/vhs player
Strengths: This is a nice solid unit very well laid out. It only took me 3-5 minutes to set it up to my Panasonic 50" Plasma set with HDMI connection(you need to buy the HDMI cable) It worked perfectly.
Weakness: They tell you that the vhs tapes will upconvert and look better-this is not true-You only get the quality that you initially started with-If your vhs tape grainey comes out grainey-only 2 head recorder
This panasonic is a very good unit and I am very happy with it-I played my music CD's-great-played movie discs(no blu-ray) and it was great-then played my old family vhs tapes and they were "ok" The point is that you only get to see the quality that you started with. If the old vhs tapes are like mine and done 20 years ago and done in long play which ends up fairly grainy, you will get just that...
